This is from the third camera location at the junction of Meridith Ave and Reynolds Ave. On the left you see another monument to Gen. Reynolds. There are more monuments down the road but I cannot identify them from this photo. This is looking north to Chambersburg Pike.

Here you can see the steeple of the Lutheran Seminary Chapel and the cupola atop the seminary building itself.

The friend you see at the center took 75 paces to the spot where he is standing, which is well within the accurate range of a rifled musket. At the extreme left you can see the Adams County Historical Society building. It is on the campus of the Lutheran Seminary and has materials covering way back when to the present, but has materials relevant to the study of the battlefield. They have restricted hours so plan accordingly if you visit Gettysburg.

The monument to the 142nd PA is in the form of a cross.

The statue is of Gen. Abner Doubleday. It may appear that I applied the nation's razor to him but it was unintentional.

This pic is of Willoughby Run from the point where the Hagerstown Road crosses it. That is now called Fairfield Ave. Doesn't appear to be too great of an obstacle, but you'd use the bridges anyway. This reminds me of the story about a stream (don't remember which one, or which battle it concerned) where a Union general and his scouting party arrived, and the general asked, not to anyone in particular, "I wonder how deep that is?". With him was George Armstrong Custer who rode his horse to the center of the stream and said "This is how deep it is, General."

Next, Seminary Ridge

I should have done this earlier, but in this skyview the circled areas were mostly open fields at the time of the battle.

This pic was taken from a spot not far south of the Lutheran Seminary looking west. You can see the McPherson barn in the center.

This is a skyview of the area covered by the next 8 pics. The arrow on the left points to the camera location about 100 meters east of the Virginia Monument. The CF marks the Codori Farm and "the Angle" is marked on the right.

The VA monument marks the spot where Pickett's charge began.

On the right you see the Pennsylvania Monument, to the left of that the Codori Farm barn (not the original), then the Vermont Monument and the Angle. The fellow in the field is about 50 meters out.

On the left you can see the Virginia Monument. It's pretty large and elaborate for a Southern State's monument, but I think you could fit about five of these inside the Pennsylvania Monument.

Next will be a round-a-bout view from the Gettysburg National Tower. Then one pic of Meade's HQ and that's it for Gettysburg.
