After sinking an American CV, I am so surprised to find some P-39s landed on my own CV. Strange enough.

LOL! That's interesting! I'm curious if the pilots are American or Japanese?

What version did this occur under? I suspect 2.10

It is in 2.11. They are American pilots, and would not attack the US even I make the order.

That is delicious!!! Hilarious!

Some suggestions:

See if they will fly escort at commander's discretion.

See if they will fly CAP or LRCAP.

If you can get them in the air even for just CAP, see if they will fight your other guys flying CAP.

it's the strangest thing...

Or was this a save from a previous patch that you then played under the new patch ? As this could cause this sort of thing to happen.

Can you clarify this? Are these just one turn gaffs or can't existing PBEM games be upgraded to 2.11? Also, if these are first turn problems how do these P-39's and other such issues get corrected on the next turn, or do they? Thanks.

P. S. - Just to clarify, in Marc's announcement of 2.10 it says:

"Saved Games: Campaigns that were started with version 2.0 or earlier can be played with version 2.10. There may be some bugs, however, caused by database changes and the first turn in version 2.10 may have some problems. The VCR replay for the first turn played in the new version may have errors. After that, everything should be ok."

It's that last sentence I'm asking about. In the specific case above, what happens to the P-39's after the first turn and how does the game make it "ok"?

He did say everything SHOULD be ok. A lot of things are discovered after things are released, as testing might not get the same amount of possible bugs that appear, but a released patch will have a greater number of people playing and more problems can be discovered. Possibly nothing can be done about this saved game and the P-39's are stuck on that carrier (can you move them off or will they not follow any order?).

Perhaps they got tired of the war and decided to have a sit-in peace rally?

American pilots sitting on hte deck holding hands:
-"Whe shall overcome..." :D

If nothing can be done about this or other first turn errors then so be it. I would just like to hear it from Matrix so I know whether these patches break existing PBEM games permanently or not. If they do then we just won't upgrade until after our game is over.

I started a new game with version 2.11. So the problem is not caused by the difference in game versions.

Everything we know indicates that your PBEM should be fine and any minor oddities, including replay synchronization problems, should be limited to the change-over turn.

Regards,

Thanks for the reply Erik. We'll be upgrading to 2.11 in that case.
