15th Army Situation Report: 21 February 1942.

****************************START Message****************************

AGS is displeased with the stalled progress vis Rangoon.
6th Guards Division has been entrained and should arrive as reinforcements at the Rangoon battlefront within two weeks.
Rangoons defenders are to be stopped from making ANY breakout or escape attempts.

Recon patrols over Port Blair are showing 16/18,000 troops present, and all attempts for the Allies to increase the size of the airfield are being denied by daily bomb runs.
JAAF fighter losses have been moderate, while Allied are close to heavy.
No attempt will be made to capture Port Blair until Rangoon is secured.
The evaluation of 15th Army is that with the large numbers of Allied troops on the island, it is a deathtrap waiting to be sprung.
Resupply for the Allies is next to impossible, and several allied ships have already been sunk by 21st Air Flotilla.

14th Army Situation Report: 21 February 1942.

****************************START Message****************************

AGS is HIGHLY DISPLEASED with the progress of 14th Army concerning Clark Field, Manila & Bataan.

Political Point's are being saved to send another Division from Japan ( 53rd ) to bring the siege to satisfactory conclusion.

In the south, the Allies cling to one headland and 14th Army predict that the collapse will come soon.

Balikpapen will be invaded in 3-4 days, and only Makassar holds out in the far south.

Offensive operations against Java will begin in approximately 2 weeks maximum

A minor disaster!! Its not the planes, its the crews!! Yamada DetS-2 appeared to have just flown around 'looping the loop and defying the ground' whilst ignoring the plight of the Bettys. No Zero's engaged the enemy.
On return to base I checked Cmdr. M. Baba's statistic's, but he seems to be a competent officer, and the pilots are in the 77/69 range of experience.
One would have thought they would have bagged a few of the lumbering B339's and broken up their attack, but it was not my lucky day.

My initial reaction was to have Baba dragged behind the bike sheds and shot for incompetence, but 22nd Air Flotilla stopped me, and issued a severe reprimand.

I shall watch him closely from now on.

Thanks Pax, and welcome, I'm really going to ramp up my game in the next few days, and take Sumatra and Java asp.
Balikpapan was captured relatively intact thankfully as well.
The only oilfield that has been badly damaged by fighting so far is Miri.

Its good to see another respected Imperial player posting!.
