I'm trying to learn how to make my own races and was going through the files. In the Atuuk.txt is says the Atuuk are Rodents instead of Ursidians:

'Name: name of the race
Name		;Atuuk

'Picture index: index of picture used for this race from race pictures contained in Images\units\races\ folder or Customization\YourTheme\raceImages\ folder
PictureIndex		;1

'Race Family: 0=Humanoid, 1=Ursidian, 2=Insectoid, 3=Reptilian, 4=Amphibian, 5=Rodent, 6=Machine
RaceFamily		;5

hmmm, or is the manual wrong? Manual says Ursidian and game Galactopedia says Rodent.

Which is it supposed to be?

That's interesting. I've got them down as Ursidian. Not sure but I thought I took the information from an old version of the Galactopedia (RotS).

For game balance they should be Ursidian as then there are three of each race family except for the insects who have four (and maybe that extra nasty as well).

The game conflicts with itself:

from the races .txt:

OK Atuuk.txt says Rodent and races.txt says Urisidian.

Looking at the biases.txt they appear to be Ursidian. They have +10 with the 2 Ursidians but only +5 with the 3 Rodents.
