I see you are in febrary and I don't know if you know this, but it isn't write anywhere so I tell
you, because I think that's an important thing to the japanese player. Take a look to your CL Tenryu
and CL Tatsuta, they can upgrade at the beginning of the month; turn 'upgrade=yes' and then you can
convert this two ship to a very useful CLAA, the only two that you get in all the game.
They required 150/160 (I don't remember well...) days for the conversion, so if you want this ship
you need to hurry, they can go to the Kido Butai TF to offer more AA cover or wherever you want.
Because my poor english I could have done a bit of confusion, so I attach a picture and you can see
the differences between the original CL and the converted CLAA, then you can send me to hell :

I was messing w/ TF 576 just now and BB Fuso is in that TF and I noticed that there's an upgrade available 6/43 and got curious as to
what kinds of changes would be made in the upgrade and looked and found that there's an installation of two radar sets one of which
has a 62 mile range. It would be about 45 days in the shipyard though and I'm not sure I want to be without the services of one of my
BB's for that long.

Unless you want to continue the war using the Mark 1 Eye Ball, I'd upgrade every Japanese ship to radar without hesitation.

Thank you for that heads up on the two CL's that can convert to CLAA's. I'll do it at my earliest convienence.

Does the radar really make all that much difference in their performance? Sounds good to me. I'll do it.

No idea, but that's a great question. I figure you have to play as if it does.

okay..........Jim and I exchanged emails and I have his moves. I did the combat replay etc. and here's the latest combat reports and so
on. How about this Tracker report on the resource history of the Jap home islands. It looks like I may have started getting oil and
resources into the home islands and there's a lot of supplies leaving Tokyo for south lands.

Jim got some ships into the waters SW of Singers and now I have raiders in my major shipping lanes. I've got some DD's I can send to
see what they can do to dissuade our intruders. I still don't know how Jim got some ships in that close w/o me seeing them coming.
Maybe they came from Singers and I just didn't detect them until now. Anyway, they're here now.

And then there was another furball over Midway. Those Wildcats have had some training or something. They are representing
themselves rather well in my opinion. They aren't fallling out of the sky like the Buffaloes were.

My Mall Man Nates are getting chewed up by the AVG based at Rangoon. I'm going to have to stand them down to save their lives and
maybe move some Oscars in there to help out.

And at Port Moresby I tried to do a ground attack w/ a Zero unit and only got most of them damaged and lost one. That's the last time I
do that I'm guessing.

And the campaign to shut down the Darwin airport starts. So far so good.

EDIT: There are like, 7 Allied units at Darwin, some of which may be engineers who can repair those two hits of airfield damage
almost immediately. Maybe I shiould switch to strategic bombing and go for the resources at Darwin. Maybe earn some PP's.

Here's an attack that might not should have happened. There were only 2 Kates in the attack and they might as well not come. One of
them was shot down for his trouble. I've since stood this group down.

It doesn't mean much because nothing is going to happen because of it but I sighted what looks like to be an Allied AK out by itself way
west of Java near the Cocos islands.

TF 4 made it out of Tokyo and the gauntlet of Allied subs and is now headed to Truk w/ almost 42K of fuel. Truk has about 61K of fuel
even as we speak and could use a good slug of fuel.

TF 10 is delivering the C segment of the 4th Div to Merek which is right next to Batavia. I'm hoping the infusion of some troops on the
ground will get some movement started to the SE on the north end of Java. The South prong is moving okie dokie now to get some
movement on the north prong.

Here's me using the TF name label field as storage of data as an experiment. The TF name field says what the fuel level onboard was
yesterday and we can read what the fuel level is now ( 18Feb42 ) and the difference is 160 tons of fuel per day. Now I have a ball-
park number to use to estimate how long a ship needs to unload.

EDIT: He's still got 1701 tons onboard so that will take approx. 11 days to unload.

This is me turning on the stockpiling of oil at Cam Ranh Bay in an effort to entice some oil to accumulate at CRB. Makes for easier
pick up than Saigon. Almost a drive-by pickup........hey yeah, I could ship in some shipping engineers to speed things up at CRB.
I'll have to look into that.
