Yes, the effect of fog should still be there. The best would be having a keyboard shortcut to toggle it on/off, like with trees. I assume trees still have an effect if you toggle them off, it's just that you don't see them.

Is fog similar to night turns (in TLD) where you can edit the effect in the Campaign text file ... either on or off?

Fog is a weather condition, so yes, you could remove it completely via campaign.txt. But then you've got clear weather, which at the strategic level means Allied air spotting /support is active too. So the effect would be more than just turning it off visually.

Is there another Historical weather type that keeps aircraft grounded? ... if so a person could change the days of fog to that other type of weather. Or change it to clear and edit the amount of Allied airstrikes to a lesser amount to compensate

Yes, you could set the day's weather to overcast, but this would effect the entire day. Fog only lasts for the first turn of the day (0600 turn), then it clears.

Thanks for the explanation. Interesting how fog is incorporated into weather settings, and that it only affects one time frame of the day ... seems like an advancement in game play.

Perhaps weather condition status could be integrated into the timer display, or something similar. For example: 09:01 fog, or 09:01 clear, etc. Combined with an option to toggle visual fog off ... it could be a solution for players who don't want to see the fog visually displayed, but still want its tactical/strategic restrictions to affect game play ... as well as some way of knowing when fog is active.

Maybe a lighter (more transparent) fog representation could do; otherwise I'd like a switch.

I don't have the game yet...I won't buy it for 6 months to a year, at least, not until the majority of the bugs are play tested out....but I have seen the screen shots of the fog battles and I like the suggestion that the squad icons be more visible to the player, then at least u can find YOUR units.

STEINER I think it is better to buy and try it. With CC is like with a taste, everyone has different.
