do a search on the internet, as in:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?audiere

it's just an audio driver, you can download for free

Thanks gw but I wonder why I would need it after all this time.
I just like to keep strange installs to a minimum.
Maybe something new with TOF.
Oh well....not important.

audiere.dll is actually part of the ToF install, and is in the main ToF folder. So I suspect that if you are still getting that error, you are invoking the game from a different location than the default ToF folder.

After copying the 1.03bv3 update into a fresh v1.00 install, set up in a new renamed folder (not using any of my previous installs), I only have the 'autorun' and 'TimeOfFury' applications (no tof.exe) in the folder, but the game runs OK using either of these applications.

The new desktop icon works through the 'autorun' application, but the game can also be started using either of the above applications direct from the game folder.

This is really getting to be one big cluster****.

Looks like the missing file was due to the "GW" explanation.

However...I have about 34186 files and folders for this production
at this point I thought I would just due as Rasputitsa suggested.

There is an "uninstall foler" provided but excituable in the folder.
Two icons and two "data like" files.

What the he** is that. I hate to just delete files and not know what may be left in the register.

Such a effort this game has become.

Not difficult at all. You have a ToF folder. Just apply the patch to that folder, overwriting when requested.

I have not uninstalled any of my previous versions of the game, just made a fresh install of v1.00 (but as you go through the Matrix install process, rename the folder that is being made - e.g. 'Time of Fury 2'). The update 1.03bv3 is just copied into the new game folder, overwriting as necessary.

If it doesn't work you have not messed up your original game, but 1.03bv3 is working for me and playing saved games from other versions.

ONE day at school, that makes you over qualified compared to me

Thanks for the help guys.

I did a fresh install of 1.00 and before patching I played with it a while.

After all these patches (not counting the latest 1.03bv3) the original does not seem to have near the flaws.

Replacements seem ok,movement costs too(as far as I checked),not sure about terrain effects on battles.

I'm sure there are things that I didn't check but it seems that the patches did more harm than good.

I won't mention who but I was told after 1.01 things were just made worse.

True, but with 1.03V3, you get all the good of the original, plus some very nice and important improvements.
