There are a couple of German regiments deployed in finland.
they are treated as finnish units for all purpose including manpower. is this WAD or should they be german units attached to the Finnish armies?

or did I again abuse

quote:

19.1.2.2. German Units in Finland
German units are permitted in most of Finland, however they are restricted in their ability to move into a small portion of Finland and areas north of Leningrad until certain prerequisites have been met. German units cannot move east from Finland into the zone delineated on the map by the two German No Move Lines and the Finnish No Attack Line unless the Axis control Sviritsa (X90, Y12) or Lodeynoe Pole (X92, Y12) or both Leningrad and NW Leningrad. German units that begin their turn in this zone may move normally even if the Axis no longer meets the prerequisites to relax the restriction, but no other German units will be able to enter the zone until the prerequisites have been met again.

I think he is talking about the two regiments of the 163rd Infantry.

Yes the two regiment of the 163. ID
they're supposedly german units but i suppose they are treated as Finnish units to avoid some restrictions and make things easier to manage.
not really a big thing, but I was just wondering if it was a deliberate design decision or just an oversight in the unit database.

Deliberate design decision to deal with the fact that there were some German units fighting with the Finns, but we needed a simple system to prevent abuse of this ability. So what you see in the game is a deliberate compromise given that it's often much harder to code exception rules in a computer game than it is to allow them in a board game.

Exceptions in board games are easy to allow (a few lines of text), but they are hell to keep track of.

Like this one:

Exception: dead camels may be transported by air.

(CNA)

Anyone played it? - I haven't.

CNA (Campaign for North Africa) is awesome. Friend and I played it twice. 3 turns a week ... really Logistics in North Africa. There are a few good one-liners in that rule book.

CNA was a great game - it just took forever and a LOT of paperwork. Actually played the entire campaign with a friend over three years (about real time!).

Bought it, admired it for years on the shelf, sold it "unpunched."

We played it with four people, 2 on each side. This way we could switch out the paperwork some :) As someone already said, this was not a war game, it was a logistics game where you could occasionally fight lol.
