Turn 27

Overall
One division is cut off in the LG area, and it seems another will be next turn. Not good, not good at all. We make no attacks this turn, while the USSR launches 10, and score 4 helds and 6 retreats. Apart from that, nothing happens but us falling back once more.

Losses
USSR : 21 troops, 77 guns, 146 AFVs, 46 AC.
Axis : 73.000 troops, 108 guns, 8 AFVs, 5 AC.

Partisans
We scared one, leaving one still on the map.

German Pools
Manpower : 2
Vehicles : 126.581
Armaments : 141.277
Hiwi : 91.844

Turn 28

Disclaimer
The INTENT was to take a screenshot of the status of my panzer divisions. I forgot. Sorry.

Overall
As expected the one division that was surrounded last turn was killed off, and the other one was surrounded this turn, so it will die next turn. Führer-HQ dismissed Leo Geyr von Schweppenburg this turn and installed another general in his place as a panzer corps commander. Von Schweppenburg is now back in control of his corps again. I do not care if he did say that Hitler has a funny mustasche, he remains. He is twice as good using panzers as his replacement.
The USSR launched 11 attacks, and scored 3 helds, 6 retreats, 1 rout and 1 surrender, while we launched 1 attack on the units that did that naval invasion. We scored a retreat and forced them away from the port they were occupying.

Losses
USSR : 23.000 troops, 131 guns, 187 AFVs, 49 AC.
Axis : 85.000 troops, 214 guns, 8 AFVs, 2 AC.

Partisans
We delt with all three units on the map.

German units lost/voluntarily disbanded
11th Infantry Division surrendered, and we disbanded two airfields.

German Pools
Manpower : 10.216
Vehicles : 127.564
Armaments : 150.368
Hiwi : 92.773

Turn 29

Overall
We lost that division I talked about last turn, nothing shocking there. In the south, the two "invader" divisions retook the port, so this turn we had to chase them away again and move the mtn div into the port so they will not retake it again. They should be forced to surrender next turn.
Führer-HQ replaced von Rundstedt with Halder as commander of AGS, so I had to spend some points on re-switching them. Rundstedt's political score is now 2!!
The USSR only managed 4 attacks this turn, scoring 2 helds, 1 retreat and 1 surrender, while our 3 attacks resulted in 2 helds and 1 retreat.
Since we are now in 1942, our Hiwi's activated, so the manpower pool is somewhat higher than anticipated, and the Hiwi pool is quite low.

Losses
USSR : 535 troops, 6 guns, 0 AFVs, 0 AC.
Axis : 68.000 troops, 21 guns, 6 AFVs, 7 AC.
Quite annoying, but seems the losses report gets fubar more often with server play than with pbem...

Partisans
We located and hunted down the one unit on the map.

German units lost/voluntarily disbanded
The Polizei SS Infantry Division surrendered, and we disbanded three airfields.

German Pools
Manpower : 56.785
Vehicles : 129.813
Armaments : 159.091
Hiwi : 8.484

1941 summary

Overall status
FAILED.

Goals of the year
1. Take LG -> Failed.
2. Reduce USSR OOB -> Failed.
3. Take out enough USSR units -> Failed.
4. Get to know the style of my opponent -> Achieved to some degree.

LG
We started out good, then Seans reserve activations kicked in, followed by some annoying dice rolls by me and the USSR. In the end we came up a little too short.

USSR OOB
At over 6M, I have some work to do in -42...

USSR units
I have not destroyed enough of them to cause any issue for Sean, and he should have his army well organized by now. This must be delt with in -42.

Seans play style
I know that he has read my AARs, so he knows I will not roll over and die just yet, so I will have to make some clever moves. It also seems like Sean has an offensive state of mind, launching alot of attacks (and gee did that work), if possible I should try to take advantage of this, but under no circumstance must I forget it, as that really caused alot of problems in -41.
The only weakness I have seen at times is the lack of a secondary USSR line, I hope this keeps up, as that will/might prove fatal if/when I recover my game.

Turn 30

Overall
We finally deal with the naval invasion the USSR launched, and all over the front we step back once more. Just need to keep doing this untill the end of blizzard...
The USSR only managed 1 attack, and scored a rout, while our 2 attack both resulted in a surrender.
Führer-HQ keeps meddling with my generals, this time Kleist got kicked out of the 1st PzA, but was promptly reinstated by yours truly.

Losses
USSR : 11.000 troops, 66 guns, 0 AFVs, 2 AC.
Axis : 51.000 troops, 46 guns, 5 AFVs, 3 AC.

Partisans
Two of these pesky units were delt with this turn, leaving the map void of them.

German units lost/voluntarily disbanded
We disbanded two airfields.

USSR units destroyed
1 Rifle Division and 1 Cavalry Division.

German Pools
Manpower : 46.247
Vehicles : 130.877
Armaments : 170.924

Turn 32

Disclaimer
Hope this update Works out well, seems IE launched an update while I was asleep, and I do NOT like it, as it messed up alot of settings...

Overall
Still need to fall back another 5 turns, but I do not have enough room. I will have to fight during Blizzard in the South .
The USSR launches 1 attack and only score 1 scouted.

Losses
USSR : 13.000 troops, 18 guns, 9 AFVs, 26 AC.
Axis : 33.000 troops, 11 guns, 4 AFVs, 4 AC.

Partisans
We now have to actively hunt these guys Down, but we did manage to take out all 5.

Turn 33

Disclaimer
I see that things did not work entirely perfect last turn as the picture from the previous turn was inserted as well. And now autocorrect of some kind is putting capitol letter at random words in the text... ARGGH!

Overall
Something new happened this turn, the USSR tried to bomb Ploesti. No dammage suffered, but I sent a German airfield there to aid with protection.. Yeah, the random Capitol letters are a pain allready...
The USSR launched 2 attacks and scored 2 retreats, that was all in terms of ground combat.

Losses
USSR : 13.000 troops, 47 guns, 8 AFVs, 41 AC.
Axis : 33.000 troops, 21 guns, 2 AFVs, 9 AC.

Partisans
We once more retreated into both active partisans, saving us to hunt them Down this turn.

German units lost/voluntarily disbanded
None.

Turn 34

Overall
Another quiet turn, and Sean now tells me that he is looking forewards to the Blizzard ending, so he (and I quote) "gets to kill panzers again". The nerve!
Both USSR attacks this turn failed and ended in helds. We made no attacks, but had to replace another general as Virtual Adolf interfered again.

Losses
USSR : 13.000 troops, 11 guns, 7 AFVs, 43 AC.
Axis : 31.000 troops, 30 guns, 2 AFVs, 4 AC.

Partisans
All three partisans were delt with this turn.
(the "updated" IE decided that Three and With should be written with capitol letters....)

German units lost/voluntarily disbanded
None.

Turn 35

Disclaimer
1. Game patched.
2. Print Screen did not "take", so no picture.

Overall
We get a turn of "winter", and launch two attacks, scoring 2 retreats, while the USSR does no attack. We do not fall back anymore this turn, and next turn should be the last with "first winter"-rules. About time to start thinking about the objectives for -42.

Losses
USSR : 13.000 troops, 48 guns, 5 AFVs, 32 AC.
Axis : 28.000 troops, 14 guns, 1 AFVs, 10 AC.

Turn 37

Overall
A strange turn. My recons showed no USSR troops, so I advanced all along the line even though this is still a Blizzard-Madness turn. Even the first major river was abandoned. Strange. No attacks were made on either side.
Virtual Adolf placed Halder in command of AGC and sacked Manstein... I had however already spent most of my points on reorganizing the army, so Eric will have to remain idle for one turn.

Losses
USSR : 11.000 troops, 8 guns, 4 AFVs, 24 AC.
Axis : 24.000 troops, 18 guns, 3 AFVs, 8 AC.

5 of them were hunted down, leaving 2 on the map.

Probably terrified at his depleted truck fleet! I'm sure he is withdrawing soldiers to prepare next year's positions.

A preemptive retreat to avoid March madness is all. And also force you to waste time restoring your logistics before you can actually launch an offensive. The Soviet can well afford to give up the ground here.

Good thing you already have 588 105mm Howitzers in the pool...you're going to have a very impressive personal collection after being forced into the ridiculous -25% arty downgrade of the '42 Infantry-Division TOE...

True, but I think I would (considering his OOB is at 7.5M...) leave some brigade sized units on the front (for attrition losses on my side), and put a division or two in the major cities to slow me down. He should have no problems losing a few units at this time.

Well, maybe I should ask Henschel and Porsche to put those guns on some obsolete PzIII hulls or something

Turn 38

Overall
The first thing that took place this turn was to place Manstein in command of AGC again. Then our recon finally seems to have found the USSR line, and it is a lot further east than anticipated. Do not get me wrong, I appreciate not having to force more major rivers than necessary, but it also makes it hard for me to devise a plan just yet, although I have some rough outlines ready. For now, it is all about pushing east. No attacks on either side this turn either.

Losses
USSR : 10.000 troops, 3 guns, 4 AFVs, 72 AC.
Axis : 18.000 troops, 36 guns, 15 AFVs, 5 AC.

Partisans
4 were hunted down, leaving 2 on the map.

which does raise the question as to how confident are you that you can inflict serious damage in 1942 after coming up short in 41?

Obv your winter losses were low and the Pzrs must be driving around in beautifully washed and maintained tanks but on the other hand it seems as if your opponent can pretty much pick and choose where to opt to defend?

His last game he was in worse shape and VPed out in 1943.

Normally I would say that I am very optimistic about inflicting severe casualties on the USSR in -42, but the game style Sean adapted in -41 makes me somewhat more weary. I will however claim that either I will inflict losses of units on the USSR, or I will take a lot of manpower centres from him. It will be one of the two (well, unless the dice keep messign with me that is).

True, but I fear I am facing a rather well entrenched enemy now, which is the main reason I opted for keeping all PzAs in the south. I think I will need to use infantry to create a gap, then use two PzAs to enlarge the gap, and the remaining two to seal the pockets. That means less pockets formed overall.
Just a hunch I have atm

Turn 39

Overall
We keep pushing through empty lands, and are grateful for every city we do not have to fight for, but it seems we are close tot the enemy main line, and PzA-Red already have some 50-60 fatigue... Not the best of starts ever for 1942. No attacks took place this turn.

Losses
USSR : 10.000 troops, 15 guns, 4 AFVs, 56 AC.
Axis : 15.000 troops, 30 guns, 14 AFVs, 21 AC.

Turn 40

Overall
Preparing to launch the attack, but I am deeply concerned at the moment. My unadjusted CV is awful at the moment. No attacks take place this turn either as I am still moving through empty lands, and I need to switch as many hexes as possible to maximize my MP for when the attack is launched. The good thing is that all 4 PzAs are now more or less in position.

Losses
USSR : 407 troops, 0 guns, 0 AFVs, 1 AC.
Axis : 15.000 troops, 6 guns, 32 AFVs, 14 AC.
Two things; a) the lack of information here is getting downright silly, and b) the breakdown rate of my AFVs is staggering atm.

Partisans
All 4 were delt with.

German Pools
Manpower : 64.300
Vehicles : 119.840
Armaments : 351.787
Hiwi : 4
Stumped as always about these figures. I understand the loss of vehicles, but really, the loss rate is beyond anything. 12.000 vehicles breaks down in 14 days. So much for German Quality I suppose...
And my manpower pool grows...How about equipping those troops with all those arms and shipping them to the front...
Oh well.

Turn 41

Overall
The first three attacks are launched, giving a held and 2 retreats, but the USSR positions are really strong. I think this might prove a really difficult line to breech. The USSR launch one attack and score a retreat after really winning the dice rolls again...(see below)

Losses
USSR : 2.000 troops, 62 guns, 28 AFVs, 0 AC.
Axis : 16.000 troops, 14 guns, 50 AFVs, 23 AC.
Really, this needs fixing. The USSR losses does not even add up to the casualties taken in battle. This is information that (atleast to me) is somewhat important in judging how the battles actually fare...

Partisans
Delt with the 3 on map.

German Pools
Manpower : 78.505
Vehicles : 114.314
Armaments : 372.284
Hiwi : 3
