Larry:

Dumb question time. In looking at T 28's front lines I notice a number of blue units far to the west of the front line. Are these reinforcements heading for the front lines, or units serving some other purpose? I would image I would want every unit I could get at the front, so I am curious about those to the west.

Looks to me like you will have this one wrapped up before you run out of game time.

Those units to the far west of the front lines are MP units that are acting as a garrison in some selected cities. It's obvious to me that this
game is going to be wrapped up soon and I don't really need MP units at the front line I'm guessing. It just seemed more realistic to have
MP units as garrisons in cities.

Larry,
Great seeing you back and active on the TOAW forum. Thanks for this AAR - Barbarossa is one of my favorite historic subjects. (see Road to Moscow for TOAW series).
Question- I know you were active on WitE for a while. What is your take on TOAW scenarios vs WitE? I tried WitE for a while- I just had trouble getting into it, the checkerboard-look of all the units...
I was asked if they could use some of my Road to... data. I got a copy of the game. But I still felt it was too much of learning curve.
cheers

Yeah, I've been away too long. It's good to be back. Although, I detect less traffic for this forum than I seem to remember.

Yeah, I know me too. You'll be overjoyed to hear that Fogger and I have corresponded recently via emails and we've decided to
play a game of FITE using the new AAOpart3.exe ( the one that's been AA-patched ) and the scenario is Modded to use an
equipment file and there has been a lot of edited changes so that it's an updated FITE. I'm awaiting his first move as we speak.
I plan on doing an AAR of it as well.......so this one will probably be discontinued. I'm getting bored beating up on the Soviets in this
scenario anyway.

Um.......I migrated to WITE from TOAW about 6 years ago and liked it at first. There's a FITE feel to WITE that you can observe,
especially if you've playted both before. Lots of chrome and details but the production output is fixed for the Axis and the
reinforcements are according to a historical schedule. I played it about 5 or six times ( both sides ) and there was this bordem that
set in. My games started to feel like the same one over and over. All things considered WITE is a good FITE if you're looking for
details and chrome and a newer user interface. But TOAW is still my favorite because of the range of scenarios that are available
to be played. And you can create your own anytime you want. I once toyed around w/ the idea of having the FITE kind of game for
the South Vietnam situation ( 1965 -> 1975 ). But I started doing the map first and discovered how hard it was and abandoned that
little project.
