I accepted an attack mission( three of them actually, all for the same target) to destroy a pirate faction's space port. I prepared a fleet and was about to have it attack when I noticed the mission listing said '8 ships attacking this target'. That's when I discovered my AI had sent 8 ships, separately and without fuel, to destroy the base. It's unlikely that they, arriving together, would have been able to dent the base. Without fuel and attacking separately it'll be a decidedly one-sided affair.

So, is there no strength check for when the AI sends one or more ships on attack missions? And is there no thought to actually having fuel for the mission? And doesn't it do anything to try and coordinate those attacking ships so that they arrive at approximately the same time?

Note: It's possible they ran out of fuel on the way there( it's a long distance away from the nearest refueling point), but if it's beyond their fuel limit should they even attack at all?
