Vyborg Strategic Offensive

July 15, 1943

The Red Army is 20 miles from Vyborg

July 29, 1943

The breakthrough forces of Rybalko and Rokossovsky are through the defenses. Vyborg is captured and Finnish representatives request an immediate opening of discussions to conclude a separate peace with the Soviet Union.

August 12, 1943

The Germans have attacked in the area of Pskov in an attempt to keep Finland in the Axis. The effort is too late, as a peace treaty is concluded between the USSR and Finland.

In the south, the grinding of German forces is taking place in the vicinity of Dnepropetrovsk.

Dave has concluded that this is the end for him, and he has resigned. He played a very tenacious defense, but in the end the Soviet advantage in numbers began to tell, and the surrender of Finland and Italy was not going to help matters. Hope you enjoyed the story.
