The phrase 'on iPad' is getting depressing considering I am an Android user, but I can live with it I suppose.

I might get an early era iPad as my next indulgence as I am suspecting it will be a while before MS figures out how to make a decent Windows tablet worth less than a new laptop.

I do hope SC3 is not too long in coming though. I have lamented the loss of hexes long enough. And I welcome being able to make a purchase under the Slitherine Group banner.

No fair showing War in the West with a Normandy landings scenario ... how am I supposed to resist that?

For Android we have Field of Glory and Space Program Manager coming this year.

Gateway to Caen is a new announcement. it is based on the Panthers in the Fog engine and is in addition to the 3D unity version due next year.

SC3 is due next year but it's very exciting to get the chance to work with Hubert Cater on this.

Wait - you are working with Hubert on SC3? I thought it would be done at Battlefront? Wow - now that's a surprise as I'm a big Matrix fan and a big SC fan as well!

If Matrix continues its path of doing full ports it would be awesome if you could save your games on panzer corps or space program manager on a pc version to the cloud and resume it on a android or ipad.

Honestly, I'm buying a PS Vita strictly because I can save my MLB The Show games on my PS3 and resume it on my Vita. It's not remote play but save and resume that's more appealing to me. I don't like having to leave my PC on to try and figure out a reliable way to play remotely through my tab.

I think having servers (which yes I know cost money, I'd even be willing to pay a few bucks a month for remote saves, I mean Google drive sells 100 GB of space for 4.99 a month and it's not like these saves would take much space) allowing cloud saves and then cross platform games would be awesome and a game changer for some people like me. You'd probably sell more copies too if people purchase the games on their tab AND PC because of it. I don't expect you to go back and implement it on old titles but new ones that come out on two platforms like Panzer Corps and Space Program Manager that would be a fantastic feature that would definitely get me more involved and purchasing more games.

If there is one game I would play on my Android tablet, it is Field of Glory. Great choice!

Multiplayer games using the PBEM system already do save online and can be resumed on any platform. We don't have support for single player saves to do this but it is feasible to add it if there is demand.

Ian, if I was able to play some of a game of X on a PC and then resume playing some of the same game X on a tablet while out on a walk at a coffee shop, it would make a BIG difference for me and my level of interest in either the game, or the devices used actually.

It's nice that some games can be played on more than one device, but, it would be BETTER if the devices could actually be on the same page through the cloud.

So when panzer corps for ipad comes out if I'm playing a pbem vs someone I can save on the cloud and play the next turn from my pc and then go back later and play future turns by my ipad? That's awesome!!!

I would definitely love that feature for single player. I don't know how many people are like me but I don't like buying the same game twice. I wasn't planning on buying pc or space manager for my ipad or android (yes I have both) but if cross platform saves were possible I would do it in a heartbeat. I don't play all that often online and am mainly a single player player.

I don't want to ask a rude question, but, I suppose so many are thinking it, so I will take the hit and ask..... Why not Battlefront?

Personally, I prefer you here, I prefer the way Slitherine Group operates, and SC3 being here means I will likely buy it.

That might even be the answer to my question, but I will ask, and let you reply, if you wish, if it is not too prying.

Don't forget the counters! Real gamers play with counters!

Seriously though, since it's early, can I beg for slightly more robust counters this time? Like maybe a little supply light in the corner (red for low, yellow for moderate, green for high), maybe a colored stripe to show which HQ they're operating under (look at Advanced Tactics), things like that.

Good counter design can give the player so much more info, and the old SC2 counters were a little... 'plain jane'.

Aesthetically, I'd like it if the actual numbers were fully on the counter instead of floating in a weird half-on half-off box hybrid like SC2.

Anyway, I'm excited to see SC3 is in the works (and that you're going back to hexes). Hopefully you can get it on Gamers Gate or Steam greenlight or something. I've always thought that with a little visual jazzing up, the SC series could be a more broadly popular 'introductory' wargame.

Hi Fintilgin,

Thanks for the feedback and yes we'll have not only the more traditional NATO counters but we are also looking to implement a more traditional "boardgame" unit counter option as well as a third option in game.

There will also be more details on the unit counters themselves (regardless of which style is chosen in game) and just to name a few this will include feedback that will let a player know when the unit can be reinforced or is understrength, when a unit can be upgraded and for each particular applicable research category, current unit experience as well as the current supply level.

We have a lot of improvements and new ideas in the works (more details on that in due time) and in general we are very excited about this project as teaming up with the Lordz for key in game assets as well as having access to the Slitherine/Matrix PBEM++ server we feel will really bring the SC franchise to the next level for all players and fans alike

Hubert

Awesome!

Never liked the iPad (as flash-player and Apple don't see eye to eye and very difficult for me to work without adobe flash-player) but maybe just maybe now I have a reason on purchasing one (probably the mini though).

Look as I may, I can't find release dates for any of these game announcements anywhere...................It would be nice if we got a pending date or at least an appox date like "expected Winter 2014, or Fall 2013" etc....
