ORIGINAL: Canoerebel The Okefenokee is partly in Florida. To us up here in the Ridge and Valley section of Georgia, that's awfully far away. By the way, here's an oddity of geography that's always amazed me. From my home near Rome, Georgia, it's 780 miles to my mom's home in Miami. If I drove the same distance north, I'd be past Milwaukee! That's no oddity, Reb. You can spend the better part of a day getting to the Fla State Line from SoFla.. I used to have to drive from Emory to Lake Worth to check in with family and with my sponsoring congregation. That was a haul! I always used to make sure I took a whiz break in G'Ville. My family always thought that U of F ruined a pretty Florida town, and they lived in Alachua county before the U of F came to be!
