ORIGINAL: Dangun I am trying to fly an air transport of supplies and fuel mission. But every time I try it, I get a message saying, "transport aircraft are not available." But I don't know why. I consult the manual p172 it says: "Level bomber air group units can only conduct air transport as their first mission during the phase and must be manually selected by the player to participate in such missions." There is so much about this sentence I do not understand. e.g. What is a level bomber? I search the manual and find on page 94 that level bomber is an aircraft class. What does "Level bomber air group units" mean? Does it mean that only level bombers within an HQ unit can fly supply missions. Or does it mean that only air HQs classed as level bomber HQs can fly air supply? How do you manually select air group units? It doesn't say! The manual tells me to select WITHOUT TELLING ME HOW TO MANUALLY SELECT?? On page 53 it says, " Left click to select staging air base unit (optional), right click to select hex with friendly unit and conduct air drop of supply mission or Shift-right click on hex with friendly units to manually select air group units to conduct air drop supply mission." So I left click an airfield unit and shirt-right click a friendly unit. And it doesn't work... nothing happens. PLEASE HELP! Could the manual be any worse? IS AWFUL! FIX IT!! PLEASE! I assume you are playing as Axis: Level bombers means : Ju-88, HE-111, Do-17 for germans : HE-111, SM -79 , Block 210, PZL-37 for romanians : SM-75, DO-17, C-135 for hungarians : slovaks and italians do not have any. Airsupply by level bombers might not work for the folowing reasons : Ground suport was on : you did atack with a ground unit before flying airdrop misions, and level bombers were comited automatic to suport that unit. ( as result it is not longer the first mision of the turn ) I mitigate this by seting level bombers to fly night misions, this way when I need ground suport only fighters (me-109), fighter bombers (me-110 ), tactical bombers (ju -87) would be commited. Do not forget to turn level bombers back to day misions when you no longer need ground support. Doctrine setings Default it is set at 50% needed to fly , this means that unless 20 out of 40 aircraft are ready, no combat missions would be conducted . For instance if only 8 bombers out of 40 are ready, percent needed to fly must be set below 20% . Bomber airbases are either out of range or more than 5 MP from a working railhead .
