Seeing as that movie is responsible for getting me addicted to these types of games, I was wondering if anyone had made a scenario based off the events in the movie.

In other words a three sided scenario where a rogue sub is out in the open waters and the other two sides are either gunning for it or trying to capture it alive.

Think Red Storm Rising (book and game) got me started on naval games. Think that was on my first Tandy pc, may even have been Commodore days.

Same here, or at least pushed me along. I was a pen/paper Harpoon player before 1989, too.

Someone really should include a Typhoon Mod with caterpillar drive in the next DB version.

This. More than anything else.

I believe the scenarios are all pretty clear-cut. Other than the sub running into the Soviet ASW cutter with it's Diesel engine off. That was easily remedied in the RSR scenario pack for Dangerous Waters (by SubGuru) with an "area entered" trigger that would spawn it pretty close, IIRC. From what I've seen the scenario editor has such a trigger in Command.

Red Storm Rising got me to Harpoon on PC Jr.
(That was a while ago)

Soviet Naval Aviation vs. carriers in Red Storm Rising would be interesting.

If I recall right, they lured fighters against long-range decoys/drones and Tu-22M/26 Backfires came from other direction. Might be interesting to see if it'd work like in book.

I also got the game Reed Storm Rising when younger, for Commodore 64!
