How to switch between unit and group view if one don't have a numeric keypad?

To the devs: please don't assume everybody would use a Windows desktop PC with full fledged keyboard for playing CMANO. I run it on a Macbook Pro in a VM.

I'm having trouble with this as well. I think its important that every hot key has a menu equivalent.

And vice versa. I'd love a hot key for clearing the Message Log.

It was mentioned in another thread by Mike or another dev that PAGE UP would work as well to toggle between group and unit view.

Or even just some way for us to map our own keys (or offer us several keyboard map options too choose from)--I mostly play on a (PC) laptop w/o a num pad and miss the useful options I had when I used my external keyboard.

I brought this up early on and was told that from a support POV, user-defined keys are a nightmare. I can see that, but it would be a nice option for those of us who don't need as much hand holding.

Well, so the devs should implement a dropdown option instead of user defined keys. I don't have a PAGE UP key herel.

Ah, ok, sorry, I was not aware of your keyboard layout.

Remember, there are USB keypads and keyboards out there, too.

The simplest way to do this is a drop down for everything.

Yeah you've got to have a menu option for every action in the UI. That's basic. In this case I now remember reading something about this unit/group view thing some time ago, then promptly forgot about it. Since then I've found myself hunting for the menu option several times when the need arose and, not finding it, just shrugging it off as a bad design choice.

Page up... I'll have to remember that.

And no... telling someone to go buy a new keyboard or other accessory to make use of this feature is really not the right answer either. The right answer is obvious.

Page up doesn't work for me. Devs, would you mind addressing this ASAP. I have a half designed, great (IMHO) scenario that is stuck because I can't ungroup to fill the magazine of my LHD, as its hidden in the group icon.

Sometimes it doesn't work for me unless I reclick on an empty part of the map and/or hit page up twice. Have you tried that?

I would like to have a dev answer for this request. Can we look forward to get unit view tied to another key which is available on non-enhanced keyboards with the upcoming patch? This feature shouldn't be much work.

Thank you.
