CWDB B998.7

Beginning with #1624 - CA 124 Rochester all the way through #59 CAG 2 Canberra, all have incorrect aircraft facilities. All are US cruisers that have aircraft carrier arresting wires, catapults, and/or 24 aircraft capacity.

This should be posted in the CWDB requests thread.

Request to add OECM capability to all F/A-18 variants equipped with the AN/APG-79. This is consistent with the F-35 AESA implementation.

Source: 2008 Powerpoint from VX-31 on AN/APG-79 testing explicitly call out electronic attack as features.

Slide 12 and 13 - List Electronic Attack as both an A/A and A/G feature.
Slide 39 - Shows bandwidth of various aircraft features, explicitly calling out Electronic Attack/Support bandwidth on the radar. Numbers and threats appear to be removed for classification, but EA bandwidth is larger than the radar bandwidth.
Slide 44 - Shows aircraft avionic controls for Electronic Attack option and method selection.

While I suspect that all AESAs likely have similar functions, I can't find any documentation for APG-77/-82 (or Russian radars).

Please add SAM Section FIM-92E: Stinger – RMP Block I to Finland. It has replaced Iglas totally already years ago and Iglas were phased out.

Links are in my previous post. Just a friendly reminder. Nothing urgent. Can always use US (etc. unit) in scenario.

This is link to FDF equipment list (official):

So a few days ago I posted a thread on Chinese nuclear forces, and emsoy asked the participants to leave a list of Chinese nuclear capable aircraft. I have decided to post it here however because it is more fitting to the section. Furthermore, I have decided to post speculatory/missing Chinese nuclear capable ballistic missile requests as well.

Aircraft-

Nanchang Q-5Jia -- China (Air Force), 1970, Few built

Armed with a choice of either 20kt, 15kt, or 8kt tactical nuclear weapons, presumably still capable of carrying the conventional munitions of the standard Q-5. It uses the loft bombing technique exclusively in delivery of nuclear weapons.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanchang_Q-5
https://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/china/q-5.htm
Page 102 of this- https://fas.org/nuke/guide/china/Book2006.pdf

H-6E Badger -- China (Air Force), 1980, Nuclear bomber

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xian_H-6#Variants

Note- the current H-6E could be renamed H-6E -- China (Air Force), 2001-, PLAAF, Conventional bomber

Hypothetical/theoretical platforms, only speculated by various intelligence agencies-

H-5A Beagle -- China (Air Force), Nuclear bomber

This would carry either a 20kt, 15kt, or 8kt nuclear weapon.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilyushin_Il-28#Chinese_variants
Page 102 of this- https://fas.org/nuke/guide/china/Book2006.pdf

Su-30MKK Flanker G -- China (Air Force), 2002, Nuclear capable
Su-30MKK Flanker G -- China (Air Force), 2018, Nuclear capable

This would also presumably carry the same tactical bombs as before- 20kt, 15kt, and 8kt- but hypothetically with modifications to reduce drag.

Page 102 of this merely suggests the idea, but still an interesting platform- https://fas.org/nuke/guide/china/Book2006.pdf

JH-7A Flounder -- China (Air Force), 2008, PLAAF, nuclear capable
JH-7A Flounder -- China (Air Force), 2018, PLAAF, nuclear capable

This would also have the 20kt, 15kt, and 8kt weapons as loadouts.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction#Nuclear_Bomber_Group

H-6K Badger [God of War] -- China (Air Force), 2011, PLAAF, 6x KD-20/CJ-10A ALCM, New Production, Nuclear

This is based on the speculation that the CJ-10 is nuclear capable. Loadouts are as follows-

FAB-250M-54 GPB (Strike, Land/Naval) - 36x FAB-250M-54 GPB

KD-20 [CJ-10A] (Standoff Strike, Land) - 6x KD-20 [CJ-10A] ALCM

KD-63 [YJ-63] (Standoff Strike, Land/Naval) - 4 x KD-63 [YJ-63]

KD-20 [CJ-10A, 50kt] (Standoff Strike, Land) - 6x KD-20 [CJ-10A, 50kt] ALCM

KD-20 [CJ-10A, 50kt] (Standoff Strike, Land) - 6x KD-20 [CJ-10A, 200kt] ALCM

Missiles-

Note- these are all based on speculation revolving around tactical nuclear weapons development, and should all be marked as hypothetical.

Poland buy Patriot PAC 3 MSE.

Lockheed Martin, Poland Sign Agreement for Hit-to-Kill PAC-3 MSE Missile
(Source: Lockheed Martin; issued March 28, 2018)
WARSAW, Poland --- Today U.S. and Polish officials formalized an agreement for Poland to purchase Lockheed Martin's Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missiles and related support equipment. With today's announcement, Poland becomes the fifth international customer to sign an agreement to procure PAC-3 MSE.

"We're honored to partner with Poland in support of the WISŁA Air and Missile Defense system to protect and defend their armed forces, citizens and infrastructure. We also look forward to working with the Polish Armaments Group consortium of companies in support of the agreed to WISŁA technology transfer," said Tim Cahill, vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.

"Today's global security environment demands reliable Hit-to-Kill technology and innovative solutions. We expect PAC-3 MSE interceptors to continue serving as an integral layer of defense."

Poland now joins the United States, Qatar, Japan, Romania, and the United Arab Emirates in signing an agreement to procure PAC-3 MSE. Several other nations have also expressed an interest in enhancing their missile defense capabilities with the PAC-3 MSE as part of the Patriot system.

Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor on the PAC-3 MSE upgrade to the Patriot air defense system. The PAC-3 MSE expands the battlespace with a dual-pulse solid rocket motor, providing increased performance in altitude and range. PAC-3 MSE is a high-velocity interceptor that defends against incoming threats, including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft. The PAC-3 MSE missile uses Hit-to-Kill technology, intercepting threats through kinetic energy via body-to-body contact.

As a world leader in systems integration and development of air and missile defense systems and technologies, Lockheed Martin delivers high-quality missile defense solutions that protect citizens, critical assets and deployed forces from current and future threats. The company's experience spans missile design and production, infrared seekers, command and control/battle management, and communications, precision pointing and tracking optics, radar and signal processing, as well as threat-representative targets for missile defense tests.

Hi! To mirror my post in the CWDB, I submit here my suggestions for corrections in DB3000, related to the P-2 Neptune! Enjoy!

AN/APS-20

- From page 141 of the P2V-5F Flight Handbook (page 167 of the pdf file):
“As a search radar, it can detect a small aircraft (…) up to 65 miles, a medium sized plane (…) up to 85 miles, or a ship the size of a destroyer at (…) 200 miles.” (I do not know if they mean nautical miles or regular ones, though.)
- From page 147 of the P2V-5F Flight Handbook (page 173 of the pdf file):
“The AN/APS-20 radar is (…) capable of scanning through 360 degrees for a map type presentation of land masses, ships, and aircraft.”
- Considering the above, the AN/APS-20 radar should have “Air Search” and a 360 degree coverage.
- In earlier versions, the AN/APS-20 was capable of search, but not of targeting. That is why the P2V-4 and early versions of the P2V-5 had an AN/APS-31 radar installed, for air-to-ground and air-to-air targeting and ranging.

If so, I'd also suggest CH-5 with Heavy-Fuel Engine edition. This will increase endurance to 60 hours for 10000km ferry range:

For proving heavy-fuel engine does exist for aircraft:

J-16 with PL-15 LRAAM and PL-10 SRAAM combo.

Lockheed Martin is closer to securing an extension of F-16 production, following the Pentagon’s notification to Congress of the possible sale of 19 new-build F-16V models to Bahrain. The country also wants to upgrade its existing fleet of 20 F-16C/D Block 40s to the F-16V standard. Lockheed Martin officials have been negotiating the deal since 2015.

The estimated cost of the new-build aircraft is $2.785 billion including support. The upgrade is worth $1.082 billion, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). The upgrade extends to the engines, since 23 new GE F110-GE-129 powerplants would be acquired.

The key elements of the F-16V version—all of which are included in the sale to Bahrain—are the Northrop Grumman APG-83 Scaleable Agile Beam Radar (SABR) active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar; a new modular mission computer (MMC); a large center pedestal display with improved programmable display generators (IPDGs); a high-speed databus; embedded GPS/INS navigation systems; and Link 16. It is not clear whether Bahrain will get the conformal fuel tanks (CFTs) that can form part of the F-16V offer.

The first customer for the F-16V was the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) on Taiwan, which is upgrading its large fleet of F-16A/B models. Then came the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF), a large operator of F-16C/D models.

For its F-16Vs, the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF) will also acquire 20 ITT AN/ALQ-211 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS) pods; 25 Lockheed Martin AN/AAQ-33 Sniper targeting pods; and six UTA Aerospace Systems DB-110 reconnaissance pods. The DB-110s are described as “advanced reconnaissance systems,” meaning that Bahrain could be the first confirmed customer for the multispectral version of this pod.

The sale includes provision for a wide range of weapons, including Raytheon AIM-9X Sidewinder AAMs; Raytheon AIM-120C Advanced Medium-range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs); Raytheon AGM-154 Joint Stand-Off Weapons (JSOWs); Boeing AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles; Raytheon AGM-88 High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARMs); Boeing GBU-38 JDAM GPS-guided "smart" bombs and GBU-54 laser JDAMs; Boeing GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs; GBU-24 Paveway III and GBU-50 Enhanced Paveway II laser-guided bombs; and BLU-109/111/117 hard target and penetrator bombs.

“Bahrain will use this capability as a deterrent to regional threats and to strengthen its homeland defense,” the DSCA said. It claimed that the proposed sale “would not upset the basic military balance in the region.” It also noted that the sale would “improve interoperability with U.S. forces and other regional allie

#405 - PLA-885 Severodvinsk [Yasen] (Russia [1992-] - 2012)

Wrong torpedo tubes. In reality, pr.885 is equipped with 10 533mm tubes and has not a single 650mm.

+

Her missile silos may contain 4 Onyx per silo or 5 Kalibr per silo.
