<type>UPDATE</type>
<summary>Please update the UAE F-16E Desert Falcon, the Israeli F-16I and F-15I to add a terrain following radar capability. </summary>
<detail>The F-16I and F15I fighters are equiped with LANTIRN which gives the possibility to fly 200' above the ground. Currently 1000 AGL is the minimum.
All this is only possible when the AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod (which contains a radar) is turned on. So EMCON settings are influential.

The UAE F-16E radar has the capability to fly as low as 100'. Currently this is 300' AGL.
Quote:
It can also hold a digital terrain elevation database (DTED). The DTED for an operational area is a powerful tool that provides terrain elevation and resultant ground clearance when combined with aircraft altitude.

For low-altitude ingress, the aircraft has two terrain-following (TF) modes. One, database terrain following (DBTF), uses the DTED to assure terrain clearance. The other, radar terrain following (RTF), uses the APG-80 to establish terrain separation. The pilot can select which TF mode he wants to use, and altitudes from 100ft (30m) to 1,000ft can be selected and flown manually or hands off. Without the radar (only DTED) it is not possible to fly below 200'.

<type>Update</type>
<summary>Please update F-35A B61 loadout with the new B61-12</summary>
<detail>
The F-35A of the USAF and other countries (Belgium, Holland, Italy) will integrate the new B61-12 free-fall nuclear bomb. It has also been integrated in the USAF F-15E.

The B61-12 is designed to have four selectable explosive yields: 0.3 kilotons (kt), 1.5 kt, 10 kt and 50 kt.

There should be at least two versions of the bomb in the database with different yields, the 0.3 and the 50 kT.

It would also be interesting to add old versions of the bomb like B61-11 with different antibunker capacities and yields.

<type>UPDATE</type>
<summary>Please update the radar & missile performance of #3365 and #3366 (Modernised SAMP/T Fr/It) </summary>

<detail>Unit #3365 and #3366 are supposed to represent the SAMP/T NG SAM system. The NG is equipped with the Ground Fire 300, which ingame has a 110nm range (200km). This is incorrect, as the Ground Fire 300 was designed to detect and track ballistic targets at up to 400km. See evidence#1 and #2 section for two Thales press report about the radar, describing it as able to track "simultaneously a wide range of targets, including ballistic missiles, with maskless coverage of 360 ° in azimuth, up to 90 ° in elevation and within a radius of 400 km" ("suivre simultanément un vaste éventail de cibles, tels que les missiles, y compris balistiques, avec une couverture sans masque sur 360° en azimut, jusqu’à 90° en élévation et dans un rayon de 400 km"). The 200km range of the current in-game Ground Fire isn't markedly better than that of the legacy SAMP/T using the Arabel radar (90nm,165km), and as such does not allow the in-game SAMP/T NG to deal with the threats it was designed to counter.

Another issue is that the Aster 30 Block 1NT is given a max target speed of 6500kts in CMO. This is not coherent with MBDA's claims that the missile can engage 1500km-ranged ballistic missiles, as the reentry velocity of these missiles is closer to 3500m/s (6800kts). See evidence#3 and #4 for the 1500km figure.

Finally, the system is called SAMP/T NG, and is distinct from the legacy SAMP/T. It is not a modernisation of the SAMP/T but rather a new system reusing some components of the legacy SAMP/T (much like the SA-10/20 families).

Try the above, counterintuitively the text and images are not linked to the DB request thread.
Plus any nil entry defaults to the Hawk text and images.

Thanks

Strange. The DB viewer thinks it is finding a weapon_750.jpg file even though I don't have one present???
There is a 750 in the latest download files from the site. And it has the Hawk information

Same with the image download.

May be the files are hidden in my folder. I'm going to delete the folders and reload the image/text from the zips.

I deleted the weapon_750 files after downloading and they don't show anymore.

<summary>Various suggested corrections to AS-9 Kyle ARM Missile (dB3K Weapon_1748</summary>
<detail>
According to Australia Airpower site, (citing Russian sources) the CEP of the AS-9 Kyle is 20 meters, vice 10 in the database. Max range is launch altitude dependent, but is a maximum of 60 nm, vice 65 in the database. Pk is 0.8, vice 0.85 in database. Missile speed is given as 880 m/s (1555 knots) vice 1770 knts in database. Additionally, the seeker head of the AS-9 was designed to attack a fairly narrow range of targets, including the Nike-Hercules, the Hawk and the Electric Thunderbird SAM systems. While other seeker heads may have been developed, all the sources I have found appear to claim only four seeker heads are known to exist. See Friedman, Norman. The Naval Institute Guide to World Naval Weapons Systems, 1997-1998. Annapolis, MD: Naval Inst Press, 1997, pg. 235. Because of this, and the apparent focus of the system for use against land based SAM systems, consider removing its ability to target ship-borne radars.

[edit/addendum on 11/12/21: While doing some additional reading (Specifically, Milan Vego "Soviet Naval Tactics, US Naval Institute: Annapolis, MD, 1992, pg 217) I came across this sentence: "For example, the 43-to 54 nautical-mile-range AS-9 Kyle ARMs carried by Backfires and Badgers are used for defense suppression tasks when penetrating airspace or attacking CVBGs...." So, there is at least one reputable source that indicates that the AS-9 had the capability of being used against Naval targets, and not just land-based SAMs.]

Ok saw this image which has me wondering if CRV7s could be added as an optional Lynx armament also it’s a navy Lynx which makes this even weirder
Still might be fun as a what If loadout.
Idea 2 is Brimstones on wildcats I know they haven’t been fitted (probably because the government would go why do we need apaches and sea venom) but I’ve seen plenty of renders of them loaded so I figure it’s a possibility as a what if

It is not possible to use the Minigun of the OH-58 in the actual database. I think the problem is the ammo is on the loadout direct and not as a gun with shot angles.

Screenshots - with details - comparison of OH-58 with another helicopter that is able to use guns.

same problem:

<summary>Add new Spanish Air Force A330 MRTT 2023 (No boom)</summary>
<detail>

The Spanish Ministry of Defence has signed the formal order for the acquisition of three Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft (MRTT).

Under the agreement, the handover of the first aircraft in transport configuration is scheduled in the coming days, followed by its conversion to MRTT in 2024. The handover of the first fully converted aircraft is scheduled in 2023 and the third and final unit in 2025.

It will be equipped with a state-of-the-art hose & drogue refuelling system (only 2 wing pods) and a specific Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) kit.

Same issue with the Archangel UAE entry where the load out has 12.7mm gatling pods.
Will get DB refs but have referenced it before.

<summary>Generic IR camera sees F-35 at a very high distance.</summary>
<detail> The SA-22 Pantsir has a Generic IR camera attached to the system. The IR camera still sees a F-35 from more than 100Nm from behind (cruise setting). And around 51 Nm in frontal aspect. Compared to the data in the evidence link (which IR camera is in the same class) these figures are exponentially higher than the graphics.

<type>UPDATE</type>
<summary>Add sonobuoys, MAD, torpedoes and Harpoon missiles to Brazilian P-3AM Orion</summary>
<detail> As of right now, the Brazilian P-3AM Orion #2105 has no capability to use sonobuoys, torpedoes or Harpoon missiles, while it actually does. I was able to find video evidence of sonobuoy use and also submited a formal question to the command of the Brazilian Air Force. They replied that the aircraft employs AN/SSQ 53-F DIFAR, DICASS and AN/SSQ-36B Bathythermal sonobuoys. Regarding the torpedoes, the Brazilian airforce employs Mk 46s on the P-3AMs (and actually even iron bombs). The sale of AGM-84L Harpoon missiles was aproved by the US back in 2014 and intial delivery took place in 2018. There was even a visit by US Navy personnel to help withthe integration and certification of the missile. The MAD is clearly present in pictures and is seen and mentioned being used in sub hunting exercise videos published by the airforce.
