+1 for the AWESUM sub drone

It's actual name is "Blackwing". the picture from the USNI article has it at 3 inches wide and 30 inches long with an endurance of an hour, forward and side looking EO/IR cameras, and Link 16 for comms. It is deployed from the 3-inch countermeasures dispensers. For LA-class, Virginia-class, and Ohio SSGNs.

[UPDATED / ADDED DB v443]

Renaming Request
REMUS 600 ROV in service with the USN is designated/renamed the Mk.18 Mod 2 Kingfish. The US Navy started operating them in 2015

From: http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/usn-signs-hydroid-contract-for-mine-countermeasures-uuvs-018221/

quote:

Their MK18 MOD 2 Kingfish UUVs are typically used for mine countermeasures work, and are typically launched from ships, but they can also be hand-launched by teams in 11m RHIBs. They were deployed external link to the Persian Gulf earlier this year in response to Iranian threats, and replaced their smaller MK18 MOD1 Swordfish counterparts at that time. They’re based on the REMUS 600 external link UUV, with a Small Synthetic Aperture Sonar Module (SSAM) configuration that provides wider sonar swath scan, higher resolution imagery, and buried target detection.

From: http://www.navaldrones.com/Remus.html
quote:

The U.S. Navy currently operates Kingfish with contractors, but the systems will transition to military operation by September 2015.

Request for: Mk. 18 Mod 1 Swordfish UUV
The Mk.18 Mod 1 Swordfish is a smaller and less capable version of the KINGFISH that reach FOC in 2008 and is based off the REMUS 100. It is hand-held launched and recovered from 11m RHIBs like the KINGFISH

From: http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/usn-signs-hydroid-contract-for-mine-countermeasures-uuvs-018221/
quote:

Hydroid’s smaller MK18 MOD1 Swordfish UUVs are based on the REMUS 100 external link UUV. It possesses a small side-scan sonar, but its scan, resolution, and buried target detection don’t match the Kingfish. It’s also used for basic hydrographic profiling, however, which is a very useful as a baseline before mine countermeasures work begins.

From: http://auvac.org/configurations/view/226
quote:

Status: The Mk 18 Mod 1 Swordfish UUV achieved full operational capabilities (FOC) in 2008. Follow-on block upgrades will combine two separate UUV programs into the Mk 18 family of systems to deliver improved detection capability against buried mines in high clutter environments and are planned to deliver from FY 2014 through FY 2018.

[UPDATED RADAR DB v443, NEED TO THINK ABOUT THE NLOS-LS]

Hello

it looks like the TRS-3D has a new designation the AN/SPS-75 in the US Navy

Plus could you add the XM501 Non-Line-of-Sight Launch System or (NLOS-LS) as a Hyphothetical weapon as the program for this weapon is already cancelled

Speaking of the XM501 NLOS missile, I couldnt find the actually deployed Chinese equivalent, or rather the equivalent to the Spike-ER, in the DB.

The AFT-10/HJ-10 NLOS launcher was officially unveiled during last year september's victory parade, and was previously shown in operation during the 2014 Sino-Russian SCO Peace Mission wargames:

http://www.janes.com/article/54029/china-showcases-new-weapon-systems-at-3-september-parade

A more detailed, but now inaccessible Jane's article here:
http://www.janes.com/article/42703/china-unveils-new-nlos-missile-at-peace-mission-exercises

quote:

China unveils new NLOS missile at 'Peace Mission' exercises

Richard D Fisher Jr, Washington, DC - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly

China has used the latest 'Peace Mission 2014' multilateral exercises to publicly demonstrate a new non-line-of-sight (NLOS) missile, possibly a fibre-optic guided missile, for land forces that it may also be developing for naval applications.

Imagery of this missile and its launcher appeared in Chinese coverage of the 24-29 August 'Peace Mission 2014' exercise involving Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members. According to reports, these vehicles were part of the 112 Mechanized Infantry Division of the 38th Group Army based near Beijing.

Two of these missiles were seen carried by and launched by a version of the new ZBD-04A armoured personnel carrier (APC), also fitted with a new optical/imaging guidance system. The ZBD-04A may be able to carry up to eight missiles.

There is some confusion regarding the number of Chinese NLOS missile programmes. At the 2012 Zhuhai Airshow, the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) revealed details of a straight-wing CM-501G missile that, according to publicity, featured a 43 kg warhead and a 70 km range.

Meanwhile, a 22 August report on the popular Chinese-language Korolev blog provided specifications for what it called the AFT-10, which could be a shorter range version of the CM-501G or a developmental variant.

The AFT-10 has a length of 1,850 mm; width of 165 mm; weight, including launch system, of 150 kg; and a warhead weighing 43 kg. Its solid-rocket booster and micro turbojet engine confer a range of 10 km, a cruise speed of 150 m/s, and an attack speed of 230 m/s.

At the 2012 Zhuhai show China also revealed the Sichuan Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation's WS-33 optical/imaging guided rocket, which is longer than the CM-501G at 3,300 mm and heavier at 200 kg, but has a similar 70 km range. From the missile's brochure it is not clear whether it used fibre-optic guidance and it may use datalinks instead. The WS-33 uses folding delta wings compared with the CM-501G's folding straight wings.

Chinese interest in fibre-optic guided missiles dates back to the early 1990s, when academic engineering publications began to examine Western developments. A 2005 article indicates that a Chinese FOGM missile may have been tested during the 2001-2005 Five Year Plan period, with one article providing an image of what may have been an early prototype.

Details and imagery of a new missile began to appear in late 2011. A Chinese state broadcast on 25 December 2011 featured a story about Chinese Academy of Engineering anti-tank guided-missile (ATGM) expert Wang Zhi and also featured an ATGM historical display area showing for the first time a new missile with large fold-out wings similar in configuration to the Israeli Rafael Spike NLOS. In January 2012 images started appearing of the ZBD-04A APC armed with new NLOS missile destined for the Shenyang Military Region.

China's intention to develop fibre-optic guided missiles for multiple platforms was signalled at the 2005 China International Defence Exhibition (CIDEX), when a Chinese company displayed a fibre-optic cable developed for missile guidance.

Its poster depicted a long-range missile conducting an over-hill land attack, ground attack, and anti-aircraft launches from submarines and ground attack from a helicopter. Another Chinese poster from July 2013 of the new Type 032 ballistic missile test submarine also indicated it may be used to test an anti-aircraft variant.

Some more information about the developmental history and all previous leaks about this system:

And now, something about the strange nomenclature of "AFT" and "AKD" as shown above:

The "HJ-10" designation, previously believed to be the Chinese Hellfire ATGM equivalent is actually the AFT-10 NLOS missile, as it is revealed here.

The Sino-Hellfire's real designation is actually "AKD-10", as the "K" and "D" in the designation stands for "Air-to-Ground/Kong-Di/空地", while the "F" and "T" in the AFT-10 stands for "Anti-Tank/Fan-Tanke/反坦克".

Here, an official commermorative coin for the successful development of the AKD-10A improved Sino-Hellfire, that has also been spotted during the September 2015 Parade carried by a Z-10 attack helicopter, along with quad-pack TY-90 anti-helo AAMs. The white/blue basic AKD-10 above shows a significant different and smaller seeker window (derived from the Krasnopol semi-active laser guided artillery round seeker) compared to the new AKD-10A, whose seeker is now reminiscent of the AGM-114 Hellfire:

Similiarily; the ATGM previously known as "HJ-8" is now AFT-8, "HJ-9" is AFT-9 etc. The air-launched variants for the "HJ-8" ATGM are, unsurprisingly, AKD-8.

These are the actual designations for these two systems that has caught so much headache for PLA watchers over the years. It seems like the HJ/Hongjian (meaning "Red Arrow") designation has been reserved for export variants of these ATGMs, while the PLA are using the AKD/AFT designations. Case in point; the new HJ-12 Sino-Javelin ATGM, which still didnt receive its official AFT-designation, indicating that it is still not deployed in the PLA.

Hence, I would request three things:

- Change the designations of all Chinese ATGMs from HJ- to AFT- or AKD- accordingly.
- Add the AKD-10A as a seeker improved variant of the HJ-10 with a tighter CEP (2% vs previous 5%).
- Add an anti-helicopter loadout of the Z-10, Z-19 and Z-9W variants equipped with TY-90 anti helicopter AAMs.

Also, upon further browsing the DB, it seems that the Z-10 "Fierce Thunderbolt" Helicopter misses its 23mm chaingun.

small corrections regarding Type 056/056A PLAN corvettes:

1. decoy launcher is not 2x15 barrel Type 946/PJ46. It is new (unfortunately designation is not known) 2x9 barrel, see picture:

Also, its safe to assume that as most other China DLs, it can shot both chaff and flare rockets, (currently only chaff)

2. most sources credits it with 2 jammers, type also unknown, see for example:
http://www.naval-technology.com/
http://www.navyrecognition.com/

And it seems that the ASW-mod 056A also has two sets of six-barreled ASW-rocket launchers as well! The position of them indicate that they have some sort of anti-torpedo role, instead of traditional ASW depth-charge.

(Note the red "2")

The basic Type 056 has life-rafts in that position:

While browsing various sources on the web, I stumbled on GLOBAL OFFSHORE PATROL VESSELS MARKET REPORT 2015-2016. It provides a pretty detailed listing of which countries have what classes of offshore patrol vessels (both navy and coast guard). I hope people find it interesting and/or useful.

A few minor ones

1. Zumwalt needs docking facilities
article
video

quote:

The Zumwalt's large boat bay can carry two 11-meter rigid-hull inflatable boats, one of which is in the foreground. The RHIBs launch through a stern door, visible in the distance. (Photo: Christopher P. Cavas/Staff)

2. Possibly an AN/SPS-73 navigation radar, I've speculated previously that the nav radars on the hangar were just temporary for the builders sea trials, but this one doesn't sound temporary, from same article.
quote:

The ship moved out of the harbor with an SPS-73 navigation radar rotating atop a mast on the foredeck, but as it began to sway with the sea the mast was retracted, periscope-fashion, into the hull.

3. Notice of a potential sale
GBU-39/Bs to Australia for F-35A

Information on the RKR Admiral Nakhimov refit has been posted on these forums. From the posted info the planned SAM will be the S-400 missile. The current database SAM after the refit is the SA-N-20B missile which is a navalized S-300FM missile. This should be changed to the S-400 missile.

- 1x rheinmetall millenium 35mm CIWS
- 8x mm40 exocet block III
- 12 mica VL
- 2x triple torpedo launchers

She has just been launched last month and currently undergoing sea trial.
Currently i'm using #2366 as temporary platform and modifying its armaments so it will be similiar to this ship.

sources: navyrecognition -> sigma 10514 pkr frigate indonesia
thales7seas website -> pkr platform indonesia

plus, some adjustments for aircraft.

#4083 & #4084 (F-16CJ & F-16DJ Falcon)
Apparently Indonesia already bought a number of aim-120c7 and aim9x2 missiles, perhaps they can be added into the loadout. I found this info from DSCA release and jane's article.

#3209 (Su-30MK2 Flanker G)
For the flanker, based on SIPRI records and jane's article plus some photos, Indonesia already have in their inventory some of KH-31P and KH-59ME. Few adjustments in the loadout would be good.

By the way, i'm just posting these here. I really appreciated for what the dev have done so far.
Thanks for considering these

*
God, I can't post the link's.

Updated DB v443, thanks

Ref the SA-N-21C. Redut 9K97 etc.

Any chance the #3221 SA-N-21D 9M96D can replace the #2695 SA-N-21C for the 32 cell VLS on the #2816 & #2310 Admiral Gorshkov?

Just seems very odd that a warship with sufficient radar and appropriate VLS size to accommodate the 9M96D has such a relatively short range primary AAW weapon as the 9M96 with only a 25nm range?

The 9M96D at 65nm would give the Gorshkov similar capability to peer warships so it seems unlikely that the Redut/Poliment system is relying on just the 9M96?

Unless there is evidence to the contrary?

Regards
K.

For what its worth I am not convinced that the much quoted 40km range for the 9M96 is accurate either, (most of the sources do quote 40km) but there are sources indicating that its range is closer to 60km, and that would be more compatible with the length weight and diameter in comparison to western systems.
These links to data for S-350 land based SAM refer to the 9M96 as a 60km system?

Information on the RKR Admiral Nakhimov refit has been posted on these forums. From the posted info the planned SAM will be the S-400 missile. The current database SAM after the refit is the SA-N-20B missile which is a navalized S-300FM missile. This should be changed to the S-400 missile.

Assuming that 48N6DMK missile from state contract 31502943704 is the same as 48N6DM missile for S-400,
yes ,Nakhimov after refit can use S-400 missile

but, upgraded B-203A launcher from Nakhimov also can use not only 48N6DMK but also 48N6K (48N6) and 5V55RM missiles

Updated, thanks!

Only thing I didn't do was the Tornado designation... will never get used to that haha!

And I couldn't find this one: #2457 - C-151 LCT --> C 151 [LCT]

No problem! Until recently I didn't even knew this was the official designation... Sort of like the Eurofighter is the EF2000.

And for the Turkish LCT: ADIK uses "LCT" as the design's name. I interpreted this as the class designation of these vessels. And C 151 simply because I'm a grammar nazi. Dunno, I find this sort of stuff satisfactory...

I see that you added the Block 1A version of the SM-6 missile however you kept the range at 130 nm which according to all reports is about half the estimated range, any chance this will be applied? I see the Kirov will be employing the naval S-400 variant which should also be a 200 NM anti-air missile. that 130 nm may be the point at which the range does not affect hit probability.

So what's the actual missile capacity of the Gorshkov class? Photos? Layouts? Etc?

Thanks!

Cheers, Triode,

First sensible reason for the 9M96 40km range I've read.
I didn't appreciate the key difference.
Also now makes sense why the 20380 only has 9M96.

In view of which :

Ref the next DB update can the Gorshkov VLS please be amended to contain 32 x the 9M96D?

It's an important warship type, it's going to be critical to future scenario builds, and the amendments won't take up any extra DB as all the elements already exist.

Thanks,

K

According to Jane's, Project 22350 has the following armament:
16 cell (2x8) SS-N-26 Onikx (3M55)
32 Cell 9M96D VLS (4x8 visible on images)
2x CADS-N-2 CWIS

Request for Sea Hunter ACTUV

Projected to join the US Navy in late 2018.

From:http://www.darpa.mil/news-events/2016-04-07
quote:

In September 2014, DARPA signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Office of Naval Research to jointly fund an extended test phase of an ACTUV prototype. DARPA will collaborate with ONR to fully test the capabilities of the vessel and several innovative payloads during open-water testing scheduled to begin this summer off the California coast after preliminary checkout and movement to San Diego. Pending the results of those tests, the program could transition to the U.S. Navy by 2018.

quote:

The vessel was commissioned today in a ceremony at Portland, and in a couple weeks will be sent to San Diego, where DARPA and the Office of Naval Research (ONR) will begin a two-year-long trial period to test the concept and various sensors that can be installed on the 145-ton full load displacement vessel. DARPA will conduct the initial trials and turn the vessel over to ONR later this year. The test phase will run through September 2018.

Pending the results of those tests, the program could transition to the U.S. Navy in 2018 for use in anti-submarine warfare and possibly as a multipurpose unmanned “truck” for dirty, dull or dangerous missions, such as mine countermeasures.

Equipped with the fifth-generation MS3 Medium-frequency hull-mounted sonar for long-range detection and a so-far unnamed high frequency tracking sonar.

It also appears to have the AN/SPS-73(V)12 navigation radar as seen in the picture

From: http://www.janes.com/article/56146/raytheon-delivers-sonar-for-darpa-s-unmanned-asw-vehicle-programme
quote:

Under a subcontract to Leidos, which is leading a team building the prototype unmanned trimaran for DARPA, Raytheon's Modular Scalable Sonar System (MS 3 ) will be integrated as the ACTUV's primary search-and-detection sonar. Designed to autonomously conduct active and passive searches, detect torpedoes, filter passive threats, localise and track submarines, and avoid small objects, the MS 3 is Raytheon's first fifth-generation medium-frequency hull-mounted sonar system.

From: http://defense-update.com/20130101_saic_develops_an_unmanned_submarine_hunter.html#.U9rbUsJ0wdV
quote:

With ACTUV arriving at area, the unmanned vessels will deploy the long-range acquisition mid-frequency active-passive sonar carried in the two side pods, to verify the presence of submarines, and assess the ‘area of uncertainty’ (AOU) affected by the threat, limiting surface ships movement in that area. Follow-through with two higher frequency sonars located in the main hull, are used to improve tracking precision and mission reliability. Once in close proximity to the target, total field magnetometer arrays are used to provide additional information about target activity. Once continuous track is established, very high frequency sonar is used to paint an ‘acoustic image’ of the target, thus identify and classify it as a specific submarine. Once the AOU has been determined and the threat positively identified, thus verifying the AOU boundaries, the rest of the area would be safe passage, the ACTUV will shadow the suspected submarine, keeping it at risk, vulnerable to attack if it moves offensively against friendly forces.

Spec'ed at 40 meters long and weighs 140 tons. Endurance at sea is months, quoted at 10,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Top speed is 27 knots. carries 40 tons of fuel.

quote:

The robotic prototype ship, built for $23 million, has a range of 10,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. “If [Sea Hunter] can demonstrate its range, if we can validate its operating cost per day and prove that it’s safe to operate,” Work told DOD’s Armed with Science blog, “then to me it opens up a whole new vista of things that the Navy can do.”

From: http://www.janes.com/article/56146/raytheon-delivers-sonar-for-darpa-s-unmanned-asw-vehicle-programme
quote:

ACTUV is 132 ft (40 m) in length and weighs 140 US tons (127 tonnes). It was originally designed to trail submarines for weeks or even months at a time.

quote:

Sea Hunter will carry about 40 tons of fuel. Top speed on trials was around 27 knots, Littlefield said, although the actual top speed is dependent on the sea state and how much fuel is on board. The vessel is intended to be operational through Sea State 5 – moderate waves up to about 6 and a half feet high and winds up to 21 knots — and be survivable through Sea State 7, considered to be rough weather with seas up to 20 feet high.

Hmmm to be honest I'm not quite clear on why there should be two separate versions of the missile

quote:

ORIGINAL: Triode

In database RVV-BD (aka R-37M) have range 220nm this is wrong

In normal conditions(lauch from 12km against inbound target) max range of RVV-BD is 200km , from "Vympel" site
http://vympelmkb.com/products/rvv-bd-raketa-klassa-vozduh-vozduh/170/ in russian

But on trials Mig-31 with RVV-BD from height ~20km, hit target at 304êì

In 1997 R-37(izd610) change seeker from 9B-1388

to 9B-1103M-350 and became R-37M (izd 610M)

also there is "Izdeliye 810" extreme long range anti-air missile for PAK-FA bays with 400km range, target max altitude 40km ,this missile is "fat" RVV-BD, as "fat" as it can while still can fit into PAK-FA bays

from General Designer of JSC "GMKB" Vympel " Sokolowski G.A. at the Jubilee Scientific and Technical Conference "Aviation system in the XXI century" :

"In the area of long-range weapons of "Vympel" is working on the modernization of R-37 missiles. As part of the pilot project on a competitive basis based on the
izd. 610M(RVV-BD,aka R-37M) developed new izd. 810. This missile should be placed in the inner compartments. Range increased by 1.5 times, altitude targets up to 40 km. power unit work time - 360 seconds."

so, can you please :
-change range of RVV-BD(R-37M) to 200km
-add new weapon ,RVV-BD(R-37M) for Mig-31BM with range 300km ,ARH seeker with range 40km ,and place this instead of RVV-BD(R-37M) in Mig-31BM loadouts
-change seeker range in RVV-BD(R-37M) to 40km
-maybe add izd.810 to PAK-FA?

I've been playing around with ideas for a scenario involving the Japanese coast guard and North Korean ships engaged in espionage and/or criminal activities like dumping toxic waste. I've tried to dig up some information for a few representative classes in the Japanese coast guard.

The Shiretoko is one of those "backbone" classes; it has been active since the late seventies, chugging along, loyal but not flashy, guarding the coasts and EEZ, with a total of 22 ships in the class, probably one of the most commonly seen vessels in the JCG. So, here is the data (there are actually three sub-classes with slightly different weapons), and I hope they can be included in the DB someday. The class does not appear to have any aircraft facilities. Thanks!

PL 101 Shiretoko
Dates of service: 1978-present
Displacement: 1360t
Dimensions: 78.0 m. x9.6 m. x 3.2 m,
Main machinery: 2 diesels, 7000hp (Janes lists the engines as 2 x Fuji 8S40B providing 8,120 hp, if it matters)
Speed: 20 kts
Range 4400 naut. miles at 17 knots
Complement: 41
Guns:

PL 101-104: 1x1-40mm Bofors; 1x1-20mm Oerlikon

PL 106-117, 119-121, 123: 1x1-40mm Bofors

PL 118, 122, 124-128: 1x1-35mm Oerlikon

Radar: JMA 1576, JMA 1596
Pennants: PL101 Shiretoko; PL102 Esan; PL103 Wakasa; PL104 Kii; PL107 Matsushima; PL109 Shikine; PL110 Suruga; PL111 Rebun; PL114 Tosa; PL115 Noto; PL117 Iwami; PL118 Shimokita; PL119 Suzuka; PL120 Kunisaki; PL121 Amagi; PL122 Goto; PL123 Koshiki; PL124 Hateruma; PL125 Katori; PL126 Kunigami; PL127 Etomo; PL128 Yonakuni

A late response due to the inconvenience of having to go to work!

Ref wether RuAF SU-27SM2 and SU-30SM SU-30M2 can use the R-77/R-77-1.(AA-12 etc)

Short answer is YES they are capable of using it....BUT...they don't...as per Triode....pilots not trained, weapon not in inventory etc

Why are they capable:
Radar/Software
All three Sukhoi models have the radar upgrades have with the necessary software and data link to use the R-77/R-77-1.
Su-30SM uses the more advanced Bars R radar NO-11M.
Su-30M2 and SU-27SM2 use what is in essence an upgraded Myech the N001V. (Probably why the SU-30M2 is used for training the SU-27M2 pilots)
http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-Flanker-Radars.html
http://www.milavia.net/aircraft/su-27/su-27.htm
http://aerospace.boopidoo.com/philez/Su-15TM%20PICTURES%20&%20DOCS/Overscan's%20guide%20to%20Russian%20Military%20Avionics.htm

The NIIP manufacturers own website states "It provides for application of the following weapons: RVV-AE (essentially the export R-77), R-27ER1, R-27R1, R-27ET1,
R-27Ò1, R-27PE1, R-27P1, R-73E, Õ-31À, Õ-59ÌÊ,Õ-35E, air bombs, unguided missiles, GSh-301."

http://www.niip.ru/eng/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=8&Itemid=8

Physical carriage of the weapon:
All the types are compatible with the AKU-170 pylon required for the R-77/R-77-1 as its designed as a drop in fit for the old R-27 pylons the AKU-470 and APU-470.
http://eng.ktrv.ru/production_eng/323/529/549/

Since I first posted this edsw posted this photo on the Naval News pages.
Think this is fairly conclusive ref the SU-30SM,
quote:

ORIGINAL: edsw

Su-30SM with AKU-170 to P-77-1

(Added to this are the too numerous to reference books referencing the ability to carry the R-77.)

So in terms of the DB3K its a question of whether you reflect a hypothetical capability or stick to the real world?

Scenario designers could simply not add the R-77 to the load outs or airfield magazines for near term scenarios, or create a later version of each of the types (post 2018 or now for SU-30SM?) to the DB
armed with the R-77-1 to reflect a future in service capability when sufficient numbers of the weapon have been delivered, pilots trained etc?

Hopefully this makes some sense?

Regards
K

Another of the more common classes in the Japanese coast guard...

PL 02 Ojika <-- sorry, spelling has been corrected
Dates of service: 1991-present
Pennants: PL 02 Erimo (ex-Ojika; the class is sometimes called the Erimo-class rather than the Okija-class); PL 03 Kudaka; PL 04 Yahiko; PL 05 Dejima; PL 06 Kurikoma; PL 07 Satauma; PL 08 Tosa
Displacement: 1883 tons
Dimensions: 91.4 m. x 11 m. x 3.5 m.
Main machinery: 2 Fuji 8S40B diesels; 7000 hp; 2 shafts; 2 bow thrusters
Speed: 18 knots
Range: 4,400 naut. miles at 15 knots
Complement: 38
Guns: 1 Oerlikon 35mm/90; 1 20mm JM-61B Gatling gun (both appear to be mounted fore)
Radar: Navigation: JMA 1596; I-band
Helicopter: Platform (no hanger) for 1 Bell 212 or Super Puma (10-ton helicopter)

According to Janes, "Equipped as SAR command ships. SATCOM fitted. 30 ton bollard pull. Stern dock for RIB." <-- it's hard to tell, but I am guessing there is only room for 1 7-meter RHIB.

Note: there is some disagreement about specifications. http://www.navypedia.org/naval_balance/japan.htm lists some different specifications and suggests that the Ojika-class should be broken up into two separate classes. I decided to use the information in Janes, as that seems more authoritative, but I thought I should provide the link just in case.

According to Jane's, Project 22350 has the following armament:
16 cell (2x8) SS-N-26 Onikx (3M55)
32 Cell 9M96D VLS (4x8 visible on images)
2x CADS-N-2 CWIS
SS-N-29. Jane's doesn't give numbers but based on imagery it looks like 1 8-cell launcher mounted forward on some ships.

Thanks! And this is how the ship is currently armed in the database, yes?

DB 442 currently only has the SA-N-21C (9M96) avilable. The SA-N-21D (9M96D) has a significantly longer range at 65 miles. The database also doesn't have the SS-N-29 launcher, but seeing as I can't confirm it on every ship, it's probably not a big issue.

So I thought those claims were extraordinary as well...but the appear to be the "standard" unclass figures for range on the SM-2/6 (Janes, FAS, etc. all repeat the same numbers). The similarly-weighted Patriot (PAC-1, at least) has a listed max intercept of 86 NM, where I checked. The only document I could find repeating an intercept range of 50 NM for the SM-2 (what's in the database now) was this document talking about area air defense for the Canadian Navy. However, that document also repeats the 200 NM range on the SM-6. I guess the USN really is OP, at least based on public information.
