kirk23 let me make absolutely crystal clear that, as I've said before, your ship art is fantastic

but sadly

I am not interested in mods for the simple reason I do not really understand computers and I cannot be bothered with mucking about with integrating "stuff" into a game - something that I will no doubt muck up due to my ignorance.

I just wish the gamemakers would insert your ship art into the actual game, at least for those ship types that they intend to use.

Hi warspite1, unfortunately my mod cannot be integrated into the standard game, to many things would cause conflict, and the game would just crash on loading, as an example naval wise, I have changed the name of most the ship types, Battleship to Dreadnought for one. To play the mod all it requires is a separate install and your ready to play.

That is a real shame . Mind you, unless the new patch fixes the significant problems with the last patch, its all a bit academic anyway.

Looking on the bright side, you will be more interested in the release off WORLD IN FLAMES in the not to distant future, and I'm sure that will take up most of your gaming time.

With the new patch being worked on at the moment, which contains a number of enhancements, I'm putting my huge mod on the back burner, to allow me more time to assist with the patch development.

Cool - even cooler if it featured some of the changes we had been banging on about for so long

I am a bit like warspite in that I am not too clever with computers. When you say a separate install of your mod is required, does this mean that, in effect, you would have two completely separate versions of the game on your PC that could not "contaminate" one another?

Is there any chance of you writing, at some stage, a short "idiot's guide" to using your mod for players like myself and warspite? Thanks.

Its just that I have renamed some units, like Battleship to Dreadnought these type of things crash the game, but that said there is a very good chance that the mod can be 100% compatible with the game, I'm working on a way to make this possible, I can't go into details at this point in time, watch this space moves are a foot!

This would be nice thing. Installing separate games for any mods is... like digging with spoon in the ground- there are other tools for that.

Update regarding my huge mod, compatibility with the standard game,it is now 100% compatible, I have changed the renaming of unit types back to standard game settings, so Dreadnought is back to a Battleship, Light Cruiser is just a Cruiser,New Home Guard unit is a Small Garrison. That said there are still Pre-Dreadnoughts,Armoured Cruisers,Battlecruisers & Destroyers in the mod. I have also added it, so that it can be selected as a new Campaign from the menu. There is no way round the fact, that if you want to use all my new art work, them you will still have to replace the Commander art etc that comes with the game. As an added bonus I have just added a new Tech to the game, AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY!

Happy to see progress still being made with this game! I find the scale to be just perfect for my tastes. I was about to start playing again, but if a big new patch is around the corner I'll hold off til then.
