In case anyone missed it here is what the printed map and printed books look like.

The map is so big we didnt have room in our office to pay it out and take a photo so here is a to scale render of what it loook slike using the actual artwork:

Yes it is the largest map you've ever seen! The map is an optional extra or can be bought o its own. The hexes are to scale with the counter from the board game and it can be used by board game players. It is the first world map ever for WiF

And here is how the 3 hard back books that come as standard with the game look.

Yes they are really awesome.

If you have any interest in WiF at all this is a must have release! Please let anyone who might be interested know about it.

We will be at Essen with 50 early access copied on a first come first served basis. Get there early. We don't expect these to be on the stand for long!

Out of interest, when the maps are folded for shipping and storage purposes, just how tall is the pile?

Yes. But it is not for me to make that announcement.

Well - I just seen this article on the wargamer - Only available in physical form ? Why ?
I can tell you now one record matrix will break with this game - it will be the most expensive.

My wife and I have figured out how to play the game on this map.

1: Secure a room with a 10' ceiling
2: Mount all the maps on light tin panel sheets
3: Curve the map around so that the entire thing joins at the mid Atlantic and secure in place
4: Place "tube" on a 4-6" stand
5: Place all units and game markers in magnetic holders
6: Serve beverages and setup first game

Yup, a room large enough to circle the map back on itself to allow the players to walk all around the map. Literally.

awesome!

thanks for printing the maps.

any chance there could be a never-folded, rolled shipping option, using a cardboard tube? ADG made a print run like that once upon a time, I believe they sold them all.

Thankfully just noticed they are optional as would have no where to put them let alone see the point in having them.

I'm with Brian Brian, that would be truly awesome. Shipping costs alone would be huge tho.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change. (Kelly's hero's)

Kelly: Well Oddball, what do you think?

Oddball: It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

Big Joe: Hey look, you just keep them Tigers busy and we'll take care of the rest.

Oddball: The only way I got to keep them Tigers busy is to LET THEM SHOOT HOLES IN ME!

Crapgame: Hey, Oddball, this is your hour of glory. And you're chickening out!

Oddball: To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some type of weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three Tigers.

Kelly: Nobody's asking you to be a hero.

Oddball: No? Then YOU sit up in that turret baby.

Kelly: No, because you're gonna be up there, baby, and I'll be right outside showing you which way to go.

Oddball: Yeah?

Kelly: Yeah.

Oddball: Crazy... I mean like, so many positive waves... maybe we can't lose, you're on!

Ah. That seems to be the million dollar question. I guess that becomes public knowledge at that point. I'm curious myself.

The early access copies are on sale at Essen! They are selling fast so if you want one be sure to stop by the stand as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

To give you an idea of pricing we are selling the PC Game, 3 Hardback books and the 21 x 9 foot map in a package for just €150 at Essen.

This is discounted on the final price but indicative of it. If you think about the cost of a new hard backed game book - usually ~$40 each plus the cost of a printed map at that size - At least $100 and probably up to $400, the value for money on the physical part of the game is unbelievable. The physical items alone could have been valued at $200-$400.

Then add in that you are getting the PC game too and I think you'll agree this is an amazing amount of value for money!

Is the inclusion of the physical map going to be cumpulsory for general sales? I thought it was going to be an option. It'd be nice if I had somewhere to put it but I don't, so I'd rather save the money.

Cheers, Neilster
