Wrong photo #3042 RA-3B Skywarrior (CWDB)

The RA-3B has several cameras on the bottom of the fuselage. See Pic

Aircrafts #1669 and #1670 in DB3000 have wrong photos. Articles describe Tu-22M3 but photos are of Tu-22M2.

I like this idea! Gives the DB pics a more "professional" look! Can the whole pack be released like this?

Hey chemkid, I can provide help for your image mod. Do I have to specify the country to avoid redundancy?

I love this modification!
I agree to having a uniform size and height to width ratio for the pictures.
At least the main ones.

I do like the consistent look, chemkid!
Do you know what config file controls the image size shown in the database viewer?

I've tried to just reduce the image sizes to fit my preferred window (size) layout, but the Database window doesn't want to read or properly display my resized pictures. It keeps the old images somehow. I'm totally confused :)

[EDIT] I am currently running the steam version so my images for DB300 is located under:
"B:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Command Modern Air Naval Operations\DB\Images"
If I resize all those images to maximum width 600 (keeping aspect ratio), they still don't show up as 600 pixel images, but the original size??

@bromstarzan - sorry, but atm i haven't got the game installed... can't verify.
make sure you have the right path/directory/folder for your new/resized images, though.

Yeah, the path should be right. Don't have the images anywhere else.
And, if I remove them, they don't show up in the Database Viewer (logical and as it should be). If I resize them, they keep their original size.
I was looking for some cache location but can't find any under my user\documets\etc. Going nuts, I think
Anyhow, if you (or anybody else) have any tips on this issue, please let me know. I'd like to see a full picture over a pic cut in half, even if it's a bit smaller. We'll solve it eventually.

Thanks for reading,
cheers,
Broms

New versions of the image packs have been released!

For this release, the image packages have been split into 6 parts: Both the DB3000 and CWDB pakages will consist of 3 files, consisting of the primary images, the secondary images (the images with the _t_1, _t_2, t_3, etc suffix) and the line drawings. That way, users can download what they want, and make the individual download sizes a bit smaller.

Download here: http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876

Big thanks to CV60 and kgambit for their effort!

Thanks Sunburn.

If people just wanted the images like before that were always in one download, which files would we choose? Only one and two or all three?

We broke up what was previously in one package into three packages due to comments that some users were having difficulty in downloading such a large file. If you want the equivalent of what was previously in the single download, you will have to download each package separately: the primary and secondary image packages, and finally the line drawing package for both the CWDB and DB3000 databases.

Thank you for your efforts.

[#3027 PL61 Hateruna] is wrong.
It is [#3027 PL61 Hateruma] surely.

And,
In order to make scenario "Senkaku_South China Sea", please add [OP-3C / Japan (navy)] to database.

Chemkid -

That's a brilliant script, thanks for making it!

I have run into one problem though - if the pictures are of a certain dimension, then when it resizes them to the right height, they become too wide and extend over the right-hand edge.

Perhaps if the 'resize image' part of the action (that resizes the image to a height of 260 pixels) was a 'fit image' to 260x750 pixels instead, it might work even for images that are either too tall or too wide. You obviously know a lot more about Photoshop than me though so I could be on the wrong track. I'm testing it now and will say how it went in a little while.

- Chemkid

I made a couple of tweaks the action you had above - I changed the 'resize image' to a 'fit-to-image' and changed the 'save as' to a 'save' (it was trying to save on your C drive).

I ran it on CWDB Line Images and it worked nicely enough, but CWDB Line Images doesn't have any pictures with particularly bizarre aspect ratios. I'm going to try it on the rest later tonight, but I've got to use Photoshop for 'sensible' stuff right now.

If my tweaks don't work, and the alternative is 3-5 runs with different aspect ratios using Dimensions 2 Folders, I'm going to say 'screw it' and stick with your original action - it works well enough!

Here's the edited action if you want to see it.

Cheers!

No problemo! I'd never heard of it either until I started searching for a solution (it seemed like the kind of thing Photoshop should be able to do.).

You deserve 99.9% of the credit for such a fantastic Photoshop action!

I love how playing Command also enables me to mess around in Photoshop - I have a lot of fun creating overlays (though I had to take a bit of a break after getting a little too obsessed with updating a satellite map of one of the Spratlys...).

I'm "pretty sure" that the photo attached to #2383 Arty Bty (155mm/39 M777 Towed Howitzer x 6) Canada (Army), 2006 is not correct. In the DB 3000 photo image set the photo is labeled "Facility_2386_t1

Being former Navy and not familiar with every Army unit.

With the help of the excellent work of the community (CV60, kgambit, ColonelMolerat & chemkid) I've put online all modified CWDB primary images.

I use ColonelMolerat & chemkid Photoshop action script and run it on all the images. It took a long time but you can get it here :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzoK_pZObudONVVSVW16dGtXbUk/view?usp=sharing

I've begun to run it on DB3000 but it's a bit larger and will take more time.

There is only the "primary" images, so you'll need to put asside the secondary ones if you want them.

Enjoy !

Lots of photos of Canadian Army Equipment at the Link: http://silverhawkauthor.com/4-canadian-mechanized-brigade-group-canadian-forces-europe_366.html

Some are quite good, some quite funny. The 1960's shiny kit!

The author has a sense of humor - his caption for this one is 'Slightly Stuck'
