To the people of matrix.
May be too abvious but just to be sure...
If I purchase MWIF (needless to say full payment from the start), but do not want the 3 books to be sent to my country, just want to make the digital download and a few months later state an address (in USA) to ship them... Will it be possible?

Thank you.

Actually, I have not seen the question yet, sooooo, will this be sold as a just the computer program digital download and let the player just deal with pdf files option? and if so, what would that price be?

I for one want the manuals, I have not even the slightest desire to pretend they are not worth it. I've already paid for a b&w copy of the War in the East manual at a local printer and spiral bound. The hard cover manuals here will actually be cheaper than bare bones b&w.

But it would be nice to know the price of the just the game option on the notion I might be so wonderfully blessed to have any other human opponents locally that could use my manuals.

I'm starting to consider a purchase of this game. I love a physical copy manual. Will there be an option later to have a soft cover manual, perhaps spiral bound? My concern with hardcover is that never having played any version of this title before, the manual will be constantly open. I've had hardcover books before where the binding has broken after heavy duty use.
Thank you.

there will be no just the game (download)option, the only buying option will be physical + download.

Thank you.

We worried about this.

That is precisely why there are 3 volumes instead of one: each volume is less than 300 pages (i.e., 288, 264, 192). And if you look at the pictures from Essen, you'll see that the binding is high quality. Now if you mistreat the book the way a high school student mistreats his, I promise nothing. But these should hold up well to frequent and heavy use.

[In my high school class there was a kid who kept his notes wadded up in his pocket.]

You cannot buy the game without the manuals. Because this is a computer version of an existing board game still being sold, there will not be any way to buy the game without the books.

To the OP, if you email Matrix Customer Service prior to your order, they may be able to help you out.

Thank you.

There is apparently so much in-game information that after a while I don't think constant reference to the manuals will be required.

Cheers, Neilster

Yes, that is a good point. For frequently referenced pages (e.g., combat results tables), there is usually a button on the current form. Or if not there, then the Help drop down menu will give you easy access to it. Or you can click on F1, F2, F3 to bring up the 3 volumes of the Players Manual.

But you might prefer to have several frequently referenced sections of the Players Manual bookmarked so you can jump to them and read the sections from the printed page instead of having text obscure the game-in-progress on your monitor.

The screenshot shows the form that appears when the player clicks on the Air-to-air Combat Chart.

When you say "Or you can click on F1, F2, F3 to bring up the 3 volumes of the Players Manual" does that mean that those F keys will bring up each volume of the manual in a PDF format?
By the way, I don't know how to create those white quote boxes. I'd be very appreciative if someone would tell me how to do that.
Thank you.

If you want to quote someone's post hit the quote button in their post. That will quote everything in their post. You can also press the quote button in the reply form and insert whatever you want quoted.

I'm myself in a quite of similar dilemma. I love how the manuals look, I think they are amazing and I don't care about paying more to get them BUT I'm moving to a tiny island in Thailand in mid-November so if I buy the game on the 7th it's impossible that I get the box & manuals in Spain before I fly there. The second option is to buy them from Thailand but... I'm afraid that I will never receive them: they could be lost in the thai customs or post service

I wish I could buy for now a digital download version, and after (when back to Europe, who knows if in a few years) get the manuals.

The sensible thing to do could be to wait... until I'm back... but that's going to be very difficult... knowing the game is there... and people posting pictures of it...

Do you guys think of any option that could work for me that I may be missing?

Question to Matrix:

Let's say I buy the game from Thailand, but I never get the boxed game with the manuals. Or that after a while living on an island/boat, the manuals are lost or unreadable.

Could I buy just the manuals again? Or should I buy (and pay) for the whole game?

You should be able to designate a shipping address anywhere, perhaps to someone who can hold onto the books for you or forward them later to a new address?

Thanks. That could work indeed.

Though it's a pitty to buy the books and then reading all of them in PDFs to learn how to play.

Or I could cross my fingers and hope they will arrive to Thailand...

I´d be able to ask for shipping a couple of month later, but not in november 7th if the game gets sold from that day onwards.
Could I buy it anyway and be the rulebooks shipped to me in a later instance?

Thanks again...

Random thoughts ...

Having them delivered to a business address might increase the probability of success. Or a P.O. Box.

Thailand ain't Cambodia 1976. It's quite a modern country and the people are very friendly and helpful. Just a thought...you could try staying at a major hotel and ask them to receive it for you.

I recommend this one in Bangkok...

http://www.lebua.com/state-tower

I was upgraded to a 64th floor, double-balcony executive suite. I actually got lost in there and found a huge second bathroom I didn't know I had

You remember that incredible roof-top bar in The Hangover 2. That's the joint.

Hint: Smile and be friendly

Cheers, Neilster

Yeah, I think getting something in a Bangkok hotel will work, but I'm probably staying in a hut in Koh Tao island. But it's true that I'll try to use the dive center address, that should work. After all, they should be getting by mail stuff pretty much expensive and heavier than the game.

My fault, I should have flown to Essen...

Anyway you'll not be able to play it online from your hut most probably, and I guess you'll go to the dive center in order to dive. :)

Edit: Oops! I miss the part when you said you were moving there, I thought you were on holidays. Sorry.

You may want to contact Matrix customer service/support through a more direct means than on this forum. Their customer support teams may not be monitoring these threads on an ongoing basis.
