So my question re mods is, if I decide I really don't like some of the aircraft colour schemes, can I change the bitmaps to colour schemes I might prefer? (how many yellow & green Emils do I need, after all?) Or if I decide to adjust the Gneisenau so that it has the mast stepped to the funnel as it really was (unlike the game version, which is wrong in WiF also)?
Will that mess anything up? I'm guessing not.
Please correct me if I'm wrong though.
Some, only some, of the aircraft do irritate me a little bit (not Steve or Matrix's fault, these colours date back to Planes in Flames first release in 1993, and are mostly unchanged in MWiF). It is just a personal opinion, but this looks like a nice fun mod to do. Whether I'll be able to stop playing long enough to actually try this, is the next question...

If you scroll through the "\MWiF\Bitmaps\Unit Bitmaps" folder you will find the background bitmaps for all units. These bitmaps are referenced by the data in the "\MWiF\Data\Unit Data\Standard Units NAV.CSV" file.

Knock yourself out but I suggest taking a backup of each bitmap before you start.
