Germany goes in for a strategic bombing run on Metz. They escort with one fighter. The French send up a fighter to contest. The result is the bomber is clared thru. The french fighter is aborted. But the roll was a 2 so no effect.

After softening up Chengchow with artillery, the japanese launch the assault. Although they take the city, the result is less than favorable.

Attacks in the rain can be dicey, but not when you roll a 19.

Sharing your play has been really informative for me. I am doing my own solo play. It is nice to see how you manage things. Your explanations are really clear.

And the turn ended on the allied turn on a one, before Denmark or Poland could be conquered. Not a good start for Germany.
Here is a shot of the reinforcements coming in this turn.

Another bad weather impulse except in the northern monsoon, where the japanese decide to launch a series of ground strikes, probing for a weak spot to exploit. Only one is successful.

Here is a shot of US entry. The US choose 2 options. Resources to Western Allies and Embargo on Strategic Materials. Both of these caused a chit to go into the tension pool.

If people are looking for examples of how the US entry and tension work and are calculated, it's important to note here that the values on the right under "Prerequisites" are shown from before the '4' chit got moved from the GeIt Entry Pool to the GeIt Tension Pool, whereas the values under the Pools are what they are once the chits were moved.

With the next impulse and the weather being only snow in the N. Temperate the German High Command orders the attack on The Netherlands to commence. The US does not deign to notice this and does not receive an entry chit. German bombers port strike and damage the transport there.

Another long winter turn. Not much action for the allies except for the chinese which are pulling back to shorten and strengthen their line. And the US High Command recalled McArthur home from the Philippines for consultations on developments in Europe.
