It's very strange but I'll try to describe it.

I designed and built 5 cruisers with the Devastator Pulse. I started hunting down all the pirates around me, and whenever I destroyed a larger and/or more established pirate base, I would get a bunch of notifications for seemingly random things.

Sometimes I'd get a cash bonus for destroying the spaceport before it was actually destroyed, and then another cash bonus or two as it went down and when it was actually destroyed. I'd get explorer notifications of advanced ships or starbases (very far away), investigate them, and take control (without any explorers in the system). One time when I destroyed a spaceport I got two advanced starbases right next to each other over the same planet.

I also checked to make sure that the notifications were from the spaceport itself and not surrounding ships or defensive bases.

I'm guessing the damage is dealt so fast and to so many nearby entities (defensive bases, freighters, warships etc) that the engine somehow has trouble coping. Or this might be WAD, I'm honestly not sure, but I thought I'd report it anyway

Zenkmander, Post a save. It will help Erik figure it out.
Cheers

I uploaded the save "zenk_dec4_pirate-devastator" to the FTP server.

Please note that I'm using Distant Worlds Extended.

If you select the Devastator Fleet and attack a pirate's large space port you should see what I mean. Hope this helps.
