This has actually been brought up before (I did a search), but I had two squads of infantry surrender to a dive bombing JU-88. (this was quite far from any enemy guys other than the plane.. both squads were in a large advance, seems unlikely they would surrender with ten other squads around them of their own army) Should I just be chalking this up to a limitation in the engine or is there anything that can be done to fix this? (there was a msg on it as far back as ver. 2.3 so..) Thanks.

As I understand, there's one text message in the .exe file that covers all aspects of "surrendering" in SPWAW. When this condition of surrendering occurs, the message will flash on the screen, whether the surrendering has been caused by an adjacent infantry unit, tank or aircraft overhead. My own personal solution to this has been to go into the .exe file using a hex/text editor and change the "has surrendered" message to "has broken!!!" This means that it's up to my imagination to fill in whether the men have thrown aside their guns and started running, been killed or been captured. An easy solution, if Matrix wants to do it this way...but some people want to be told exactly what is *happening*, so I imagine there'd be an uproar and cry if the "surrender" message was removed.

Well why don't they just 'disperse'? There are certainly cases where you need to have a surrender message, but a plane bombing far away from any other hostile enemies causing my guys to surrender seems strange indeed. (and I suppose I can just remind myself they are actually dispersing when this comes up, but really just wondering if something can be done in-game to fix it)
