was building a scen file, and when I tried to save it, it crashed.

Sorry that happened. Did the autosave feature help you recover?

was saving a scenario, after using the import feature.

fortunately it was not very much work to recover, but I dont know if the autosave would have caught it, I havent restarted command yet.

yes, the autosave had my work at the stage I left it at. would not have thought to try resuming from the autosave - thanks!
