Here's the West side in T29. I'm pressing north all the time, resting the units when they go below 60% readiness so that they are all
supposedly combat ready all the time. It's slowing up the column but can't be helped. I'd like them to surround whatever they need to
destroy whenever possible. Every little bit helps.

Here in T30 there's the sudden appearance of a German unit behind my lines. He's the equivalent of a very powerful enemy partisan
or something. The point is that I need to dispatch somebody to do something about him. Maybe several units. And right now.

Here's the East side in T30. It's an economical operation w/ few units so far. More are on their way to the site of the action.

Here's the West side in T32. I'm facing some Axis Panzer units and the going is slow. Supply is tight and attacks are rare except for the
German arty pounding I'm getting. About 6 rounds of arty strikes makes my units orange-red and needing resting. So I swap them on
the front.

Here's the East side in T32. I'm pressing north still. It's slow going because of the low supply levels. I'm moving all the regular
engineers to the East side to start building a supply rail to give these guys a break. It's about time.

Here's the West side in T34. I'm pressing for Paestum and the supply it can supply.

Here's the East side in T34. Terrain features force me to run south a bit before outflanking the Germans.

Here's the East side in T35. I've gotten around to the rear of the Germans and unless there are any more surprises I should be able
to dispatch these Germans before too much longer.

Here's the West side in T35. I've landed the NZ 2nd Mechanized Division behind the Germans facing me and have almost cut them off
from suppy and surrounded them. It's going to definately make a difference. I've captured Paestum so the supply levels are climbing
and it's looking like I might be able to get back on schedule.

Here's the East side in T36. I'm surrounding the Germans and zooming off to the north again.

Here's the West side in T37. I'm running into more and more Panzers. It's starting to get IFY.

Here's the West side in T38. I'm slowly overcoming all the pressure from the Panzers by the liberal application of air power. I'm using a
manual method of assigning planes to a target and hit end turn and assign planes to a target and hit end turn so that several combat
rounds are spend pounding German units by air. For several turns. It looks like not much is changing on the ground but the readiness
of the German units is decreasing with each strike.

The Germans have railed in a lot more mechanized equipment and I'm feeling terrific pressure on the north and east flanks. I've gotten
some modicum of supply to the "pocket" but I'm having to ship in fresh troops because my units are getting worn down from the
unstinting German attacks. The CS missions are keeping anybody from being evaporated and I've got tactical reserves behind the lines
so it's holding but just barely.

It's T40 and on the West side we're still locked in mortal combat w/ the German Panzers. I'm still using massive amounts of air power to
pound the offenders and it looks like we're slowly gaining the high ground. Good supply levels are helping a lot.

And on the East side in T40 I'm sneaking up on Foggia. I'm slowly getting "fresh" units moved up to the front. I say fresh but they are
actually hovering around 60% in readiness. Just enough for an attack when everybody gets into position. I'd like to surround all the
targets if possible.

It's T42 and I've finally captured Foggia and have made good progress on all those airfields. I'd like to be able to start using those
sometime soon. It all depends on how soon I can get some good supply levels in that area.

Here's the West side in T42. I'm pressing north using lots of CS and manual bombing attacks and the railhead is as close as it's ever
been. I'm hoping I can continue the same rail north to Rome before I veer NE.

I've got a saved game file for just about every turn just in case there's a question about something or somebody wants to look something
up real quick. We can use them to grab statistics if you'd like to know something about the game from the Allied POV.

I made some new landings just south of Rome w/ two divisions and various elements of another. I'm not sure it's a good idea to do this
but I thought maybe it would draw some of the pressure away from the action site(s). They might just get pushed back into the water.

Here's the Salerno area in the turn just after the landings near Rome. The Germans appear to have driven off to the north. Maybe.

I thought I'd capture Rome while I still could. I'm probably going to have a problem defending that until I get some more boots on the
ground near Rome.

Here's the strategic situation in T45. Rome kind of sticks out there like a sore thumb. The next task is to connect the separate areas
together into one giant LOC. The terrain favors doing that so I'll press units from both to work toward each other.

Here's the West side in T45. I'm still entangled w/ the Panzers and it's slowly coming to a head and I'll be pressing north shortly.

The situation in Rome is confused and dynamic and there's lots of action going on. I'm shipping in the Free French Division to help out
with the connection problem.

T46's front lines. I'm making progress in operation Good Connection and I have all the planes on CS missions to protect the troops and
it's working out magnificantly. The Germans attack me and they lose more than I do always. I've started using the smaller units as bait.

I've gotten some recent theater options and I'm going to take both of them just to see what they do. And if they work.

Here's the West side in T47. The Panzers have either moved away or I've killed them. This stack is all that's left locally. I'm working
on mopping it up as we speak.

Here's the strategic situation in T48. I'm making progress in getting Rome connected to Salerno but we're still not there yet. There are
more and more Germans showing up near Rome and it's really confused and dynamic still. I'll post a separate picture of the Rome
area to show you what I mean.

On the East side things are almost at a standstill for lack of supply. But at least we not have Foggia. I've moved some RR engineers
to the Anzio area to start a rail to Rome and thence to the NE.

It's T48 and here's that picture of the Rome area that I promised. I've got about 5 separate divisions there defending now and two more
pressing south. Lots of Germans have shown up to threaten the landings but I've expanded enough to be comfortable that we're here
to stay now and more and more Free French are showing up to take up the slack so it's looking good overall, long term.
