Don't you ever check for Supply Point locations before you conduct an Amphibious Attack ?

I probably ought to start doing that. Obviously. I'm kinda new to this scenario and I'm used to knowing where everything is when I play.
Bad habit. I'm breaking it as we speak.

Here's what it looks like at Salerno. I've got a regiment surrounded but I don't dare attack it. I'm out of supply. I'm just holding him
there for a while. I'm going after the supply source first.

Here's the T28 front lines. I invaded Sardinia at two points and found Axis aircraft stationed there. No land units seen yet. So far so
good.

Here's Sardinia now. I'm clearing all the roads first then going back and converting what terrain I can convert. It'll take a turn or two to
get it all done.

So it's T33 and I see this screen. I'm thinking some unscrupulous player would drop the 1st British Airborne somewhere anywhere almost
to get some use out of them but I'd rather play realistically.

Here's how the air war is going. The front lines haven't changed. We're trading shots back and forth and my air power is slowly making
a hole for me.

Here's the front lines by Salerno now. I've got the troops from Morocco backing me up there. I'm trying to find an alternate path with the
Free French troops and the supply level is still too low for combat when you are far away from the supply source.

Here in T36 I finally got a recon unit behind the enemy stacks and cut them off from supply and blew the bridges because it's too
dangerous for it to stay there very long. He may have been there too long as it is. I've got the Free French traveling down these
roads and they will show up in this AO in about 3 turns or so.

So here's something you don't see every day. The 79th is listed twice once where it's eliminated and one where it's coming in a
future turn.

Here's the front lines in T39. The front isn't moving very fast overall, not at all in some places. I'm moving arty to the front and I'm
shifting some of the fighters to CS instead of AS. I've been pounding the German positions w/ my bombers every turn and so far
the number of losses is low to medium. Sardinia has been invested and there's no islands left to grab. I'm thinking of maybe doing
another invasion closer to Rome.

In the area around Ariano I think maybe I've made a small hole and perhaps the way might be clear to the north side of Salerno. I'm
going to pursue that thought and see where it leads because I need a break right about now.

Here's the Foggia area now. I'm surrounding the AA units there and I'm going to destroy all of them eventually.

It's about time to invade again and I need to know where the supply points are this time to avoid another Salerno. So I fired up the
Scenario Viewer and viola.......supply points.

The third one down in the list is (182,260) and that's in the middle of the water. I guess that's to supply ships eventually.

Hmm ... since this version is designed for a German PO, I suppose it might be nice if I marked the locations on the map. As you point out, it is kind of important.

OK. It's T46 and Salernno was finally taken. It was a hard fight and I lost a lot of planes pounding the Germans but they lost a boat
load of equipment. I'm hoping to invade at Anzio now.

Maybe in the off-map area we could put a much smaller map with the locations marked somehow. Like the Campaign for South Vietnam
did w/ it's province map. Curt did a masterful job on that scenario. It's one of my favorites. THIS scenario ( Sicily to Brenner Pass ) is
getting to be fun now that I'm making some progress again. I've got Italian partisans in northern Italy that are tearing up roads and
blowing bridges and converting the road hexes. It's just a lot of fun. Thanks for talking me into playing this scenario.

I captured all the airports at Foggia when the city fell and so even though the supply level is '1' I'm thinking I can rotate planes through
there so that the short range Spitfires can reach further north and I wanted to project some interdiction w/ the P-40's if possible and
the airport at Foggia allows the P-40 to reach most of Italy as seen in the map.

Here's the Napoli - Salerno area now. I've swamped the Germans and I'm going to try another invasion just because I can. Practice for
Anzio.
