A bigger concern would be whether the game will be released at all this month as confirmed by Erik. We haven't seen any promotion, and we haven't heard a word about a release date.

PBEM++ (with server) would be my guess since the board game is an impulse system.

I've an answer from Erik, thanks to him :

Multiplayer will be available, but because of Lock 'n Load's activation system, it's TCP/IP-based using our multiplayer routing server. If you've played our Conflict of Heroes game, it's the same kind of system. No configuration required, just register and login to the server and post the game you want to play or join someone else's game. Scenarios usually take about 1-2 hours to complete, so it's well suited for that.

Regards,

- Erik

I appreciate that designers for CoH and L&L have come up with creative designs. Unfortunately these new systems do not support PBEM. I think it is a big disadvantage.

I agree, but lots of board games are this way now. ASL was one of the first to go to this style and it makes the games more interesting. The game becomes very fluid and is consistently changing by the moment.

I think for games where a scenario can reasonably be played in one sitting, a system like this makes a lot of sense and the interactive turn structure makes for a more exciting game for both players. For games that take much longer, PBEM and a separated turn structure works best. I encourage everyone to try Lock 'n Load multiplayer - I've had a LOT of fun testing it, it really gives you a lot of enjoyment in a relatively short amount of time.

Regards,

- Erik
