No they did not.

The closest the Germans came was Novorossiysk up the coast about 285 KM.

Having looked through several sources...it appears the answer is "no". From what I read the last time Sochi saw any type of conflict was during the Russian Civil War before World War 2. It is quite far down the coast towards Turkey and would not have had any strategic value by the looks of it.

It was a huge Hospital city for the USSR during WW2. Link to a virtual museum. Pretty neat.

And it was perfect because while convalescing, instead of sitting round playing endless games of chess, the wounded soldiers were able to partake of a relaxing run down the Luge course.

Ahh... That's nothing if you compare it to the number of contestants in the games itself... If you take that as base, there is only one country which is the best... Guess which one...
