I had started the blow-by-blow in our FITE game AAR but Lobster had the great idea of starting a dedicated FITE2 AAR so this is it. This
is one section of the front lines where the Axis is running amuck hither and thither. John is sweeping everything out of his path moving
as fast as the wheels will turn. He's in a hurry to try to catch as many of my units as he can before he gets to the next major river
because once I make it to the river I can defend about three times better and he knows it. It's a race for me to save what I can and he's
winning.

Did I happen to mention that there's like 1900+ units on the Soviet side at the game start? I imagine that the Axis side is
comparable. It's taking a really long time to process my moves. I've been working on my moves since last night and
it's now early afternoon the day after and I'm about 1/2 done already.

Did I happen to mention that I have more oil wells than the Axis has. Here's a shot of way down south in the oil rich territories.

Here's a new unit for the Soviet side: Factories. Here's a typical Factory unit. As you can see it's pretty simple. I'm going to have to
move this before the Axis gets here. By rail preferably.

It would be interesting to see Larry's losses for the first turn. Did i destroy over 5,000 aircraft?

Yeah, we got this from Soren about 4 days ago and we're playing it to find the late game bugs.

Here's some of my losses so far:

Here's what the front lines look like in T2. John is rushing my front line and I'm retreating behind the nearest river. He's catching up to
and destroying my units before I can get most of them to the river and beyond. But some of them are getting away. I'm blowing bridges
and leaving roadblocks and some of it might be doing some good.

I took the partisan theater option and I assume John did too from the wording of the TO.

Here's the T3 positions of everybody. John is pressing his advantage in manpower to the max, spreading out and expanding his
territory and his recon units are probing and searching and the main force units are rushing up behind the recon. His advance is
going full speed.

The size of these maps never fail to impress me, I mean it's even beyond huge it's humongous.
Yeah I have fired up FitE or Drang nach Osten a few times... stared at the map, stared at the map some more, then my brain freezes Just can't do it LOL but love the AAR's.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I'm going through that with this new FITE2 map. I'm familiar w/ the FITE map but this one is about twice
as big. I don't recognize some of the names because the map is tremendously detailed. The people who worked on this thing did a
heroic job as far as I can tell. My IL-4's have jet bombers for their icon but that's easy to fix.

Here's a closeup of the northernmost sector. Due to FOW we don't see all the Axis units behind the front line. My theater recon value
is too low for anything besides foot patrols I guess.

On turn 3 I dropped 2 Comdo units to see if i could capture a river crossing before Larry dropped the bridges. But before I dropped the units I carried out a couple of airfield attacks on near by fighter units so that they would not intercept the units in flight. This cost me 20% of my turn. Both crossings were defended and one of the Comdo units broke down into 3 companies and was unable to withdraw or reconstruct because of the ZOC’s of the two units at the crossing. Larry then moved his 3rd Mech to surround the comdo unit and destroyed 1 of the companies. I am now mounting a relief operation

The new version of TOAW has sea interdiction in it and it works. I was moving a destroyer unit on a recon and it is no more

Here's a section of the front lines where John is pressing from left to right and I'm backing up in the same direction. I'm leaving behind
roadblocks and I'm blowing bridges as I can and John keeps catching up to my retreating dudes and killing them. I'm starting to form
a rudimentary front line and maybe the advance will slow down somewhat. Not likely.

EDIT: I"m using the modified checkerboard defense because of the presence of Panzers. You can see one of John's tank units at the
center left. I'm half afraid that John is going to be able to brush all my defenses aside and get into my rear areas. I'm not ready in the
rear and an intruder now would spoil all my plans.

Soren supplied Fogger and I with 3.6.0.55 and that's what we're using. I feel a little bit strange playing w/ a new version in public but
I guess Soren knows what he's doing. Actually FITE2 needs the new version because it's so big.
