This one is the picture for the SU100.Could be good?
If yes we must decide the value and the to hit table.

Others 2 possibility. One ,the T28,is a difficult tank to add to the game.It have 2 or 3 turret. The second is better know as Hetzer.
Please give me an opinion.

Well done acropora,
This 3 tanks (Hetzer, T-28 and SU-100) miss us.
It's good idea to add them to the game.
Counter's graphics do the job for now.
The hardest things to do is to find the right numbers for this units...

You are right but is not impossible. The next step is to do the number. If the work like ,i have ready also the Nashorn but is better if we agree on which counters are needed to have a complete (more or less)East Front scenario possibility. For sure I want to add the Pz38T,the most used in 1941.There is another idea but don't require a new counter. The flampanzer is a PzIII with the flame thrower used also in Stalingrad and than at Kursk.
I think that is only a problem of csv file. What do you think?
We could agree on the work, that means I do the counters decided with number and you produce the csv for the East Front. What do you think?

Added 2 British infantry countersheets

(With all this paratroopers, i think we'll see soon an "A bridge too far" or a "Save the private Ryan" scenario... )

At the moment I was not interested in CSV files. Thus I cannot know if I could make them effectively.
Talented creators of this kind of files seem to be usgrandprix or jonj01. They knows much than me...

I think there will be no problem with the units.csv because of what the programmer said :

quote:

ORIGINAL: Tom Proudfoot

Only the 2 custom nations are read in. Units can go up to 1000 and sprites something silly like 80,000.

I think 1000 entries is enough for a units.csv dedicated to the eastern front...

I can do the .csv files for the US airborne infantry and vehicles probably this weekend if no one else is working on it. Then I'll post a Normandy or Market Garden scenario.

Well done usgrandprix.
It will be a real pleasure to play these scenarios if they are as good as your Heroes of the Gap one.

Acropora,

I will integrate all three of your fine counters into another vehicle sheet. I will go to historic references and get all the numbers for TO HIT table on the back, Machine guns...no machine guns, Fire power, movement and armor ratings. I'll get out a unit.csv file soon. I'll focus on Eastern front from now on only. I'm most interested in Eastern front battles anyway...let's face it...the hardest fighting in WWII occurred on the Eastern front.

This 3 counter are only an example.I can finish them with the values and add others.
I agree with you to finish an East Front before to go on"others games".
If you are more specialized on the csv file I produce AFV counters and you the csv file.In this way we can do a big Eastern Front mod.
Do you agree?
We must agree also in which counters must be done. The most used i think.

Usgrandprix,

great, however lets not duplicate work. Please post all your unit.csv, sprite.csv, etc on this thread and I will integrate them into a SINGLE central set of files. You are going to be working on US forces for WWII. Great this lessens what I have to do.

I have already turned 2 of the counter sheets provided by Bongo(maitre)into *.csv files. Please do not waste time repeating my work.

the two files are the two US vehicles sheets provided by Maitrebongo. (the two sheets ALREADY DONE ARE US-vehicles-sheet-01 and US-vehicle-sheet-02.
units included are jeep,m4105,m4a1,m5a1(6 and 7 morale),m7, m10, m18,m3a2halftrack, M8 armored car, M4a3e8(long gun sherman), m4a2, and m4a3r3

Please don't repeat my work. There is so much to do.

Thanks.

Jon

Sure. I'll just do the US infantry. Are there sprite IDs you want me to use for the 3 us infantry sheets?

Good job Jonj0, i'm very pleased you make these csv files. And good initiative to regroup them in a central one.

Thank you very much.

Acropora,

The campaign I am working on is during the 1942 year in the Eastern Front. If you can download counter pack 1.1. Then If you want to make any other AFVs for 1942,1941,1940 that are NOT INCLUDED in counter pack 1.1 that would be great.

If not, I will add whatever eastern front counters we have available to the Combined units.csv...

What I really need now...is a Soviet truck counter and a soviet halftrack counter. I will do the unit.csv for the counters. so all I need is the bmp.

I will need in the future more Turret counters...but that is in the future. I will let you know which turret counters I need.

Thanks for your contributions.

Jon

OK,i do all the AFV that i have in mind.About the track i know only the Gaz as Soviet track.
Is not already in the counter sheet?
Half track:there was only land lease Half track, that mean i must do an US H.t with Soviet
color.OK?Or if you know the exact model, please tell me.
My intent for the soviet AFV is to add, excluding the 2 posted, the SU122 than there are some T34 with flame trower(but is more complicated for the csv). For the German is more complex(German have produced a lot of AFV).There are the Nashorn,Brumbar(150mm),Stug H42 105mm,PSW 234 and Pz38T(1941 Barbarossa).Any AFV with the proper turret
if you have specific request i see what i can do..
In my opinion there is one thing wrong in the game:the Panther have less armor than the Tiger,is not the opposite?

Acropora,
The only soviet truck I have is a historically wrong...French vehicle(Citrozen)...that I put on a Soviet background. The old crappy 1933 soviet ZIS-5 truck was the main Soviet truck, I think over 500,000 used in the war. the ZIS-5 also could carry over 20 men so there are less trucks on the board.
The Soviet halftracks were US lend lease vehicles the model model M3A2.
The t34 flame throwing tank is no big deal.Very simple for unit.csv. I can probably get the program to show video of flame as well.

If you could produce the counter sheets for these and All the others you mentioned....Stug42, PSW234, Pz38T, etc.

The Panther VG had about the same amount of Armor in front as the Tiger but because the PantherArmor was sloped it was more effective. I believe on the sides and back the Tiger had more armor.

THanks

maitrebongo,

I had to create a US-infantry-Sheet-04.bmp becasue of how the customs work. If you want to add it to your compilation it's attached.

It will be done tomorow evening.
By the way, could you explain what kind of special work the custom do to oblige you to make another file (for my information)

Thanks

Its the column 5 of your US Infantry sheet 02 +03. The all unit spread sheets (custom/unit.csv) do not have any place to tell the game program where to get the "shaken" side of the unit counter. It is assumed and the computer definitely assumes that the 1 and 3 column of each bmp sheet is for the good or non-shaken side of the unit counter. the program outmatically grabs the 2 and 4 column of the same row as the shaken status side of the unit counter.

So US-inf-02 major tom has his shaken status side in the row below his good side...so in the game when major tom breaks..the game will show a completely black or green or whatever the background is ..instead of his shaken side.

The same with US-inf-03. Thats why you don't see any squads, heros, or leaders, in the 5 column of any of the bmp sheets that came with the game.

Yeah basically some units need to be horizontal (infantry, leaders, MG42 for example) instead of vertical. Here's a replacement for GER-infantry-Sheet-05.bmp. No hurry. I just thought you might want to add/replace these in case people are downloading them to go with the .csv files we are making. Thanks again for doing these!

Counter pack 1.2 has what you send me Usgrandprix...+30 or so new counters(vehicles) i did myself. @http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3583533

the combined files are getting too big to post in one post ...So I will keep them on the thread above
