I like the intel brief, I'll play this some tonight.

edit: didn't take long to crash like you warned in the excellent briefing (not scenarios fault, was messing with range rings) but I do love how you set up initial air patrols.
Some will prefer to do this themselves I'm sure, but I enjoyed just being up and running without a lot of fiddling with patrols.

Initial thoughts.. Like to have some form of ASW helo ready to go from startup. Wouldn't mind seeing a Poseidon or two out of Kadena with ASW loadout, or ability to rearm. I'll play more tomorrow.

Lost the the Tico as it wouldnt fire to defend it self
Lost the Arleigh burke to a sub

nice to see the Nulka's working, i did some work on the propellant system for them IRL.

Slammers for the win really.

Looks good to go to be truthful. I got a major win, well I did until I hit some land installations, probably serves me right for not closely reading the orders. Liked the messages, the various reports and extra missions that crop up, liked the intell and the call-signs.
If I was being petty I'm not sure the message log was clear and the weather isn't in?

I think the major damage was a result of the Buffalo which once it was in position caused havoc.
The screening forces otherwise did a very good job indeed.

I liked the scale of this one as well, would second that.

Awesome scenario.
Just have some issues with it,..

This mission takes place in 2014, the J-20 doesn't debut until around 2017-2019, and won't be fielded in large numbers until years later.
I shot down at least over 20, J-20's in this scenario.

Also, Tico's without TLAM's?
Not being able to strike at mainland China seems a bit odd, since you lose if you strike anything on the mainland.
If this scenario is going to be historically inaccurate, you might as well throw in a couple Zumwalt's on the US side.

Ghynson,

Thanks for trying out the scenario. I will no doubt have to rebuild the entire series as improvements and my understanding of 'how to' build gets better.

As for the J-20 choice I gave China the acknowledgement of a super power that could be capable of fielding a weapon system in numbers before any 'official' release. I still remember the F-117A and how it was entirely fielded and operational 5 years before any word or its existence.

The political force that surrounds all world conflicts is real and guides all military actions. I can accept that the US would try to maintain a 'defend' posture given this situation. Remember, this is the opening act of a much large conflict.

Just my thoughts on how this was created.
