Developer Cat Rabbit has announced Heroes of Normandie, a fast-paced tactical scale board-game depicting battles fought among the Normandy hedgerows in the summer of 1944, by the kind of German and American heroes we have seen fighting in the war movies of Hollywood’s golden age. It is those movies where the inspiration for Heroes of Normandie lies: offering explosive, fast-paced, yet very tactical battles.

The time is summer 1944. The Sun shines on Normandie hedgerows. Gentle wind, fields of bright flowers, and in the background, the romantic staccato of machine gun fire in the morning. In these typical French countryside landscapes, thousands of men are about to fight. And die. Bravely like heroes, or cowardly like wussies. But only heroes really matters. Those you see in Hollywood Golden Age war movies.

Players are able to participate in the Normandy campaign on either the German or American side, or create their own custom scenarios.

Heroes of Normandie will release on iPad and PC later this year.

There is a video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkAAqo9c_co

See it until the last second

Is like HoS but faster, the map edition is superfast and this could be his strong point... this and have Oddball and other "real heroes"

Looks superb! Fingers crossed the mechanics work well. Both CoH and LnL have issues for me.. hoping this suits me better.

The map designer etc is a great feature.

Just thought there is an AI isn't there?

Well it's still a turn based tactical wargame..as I said I like the look..it looks fun, which can be lacking in wargames.

A shame many moan about the rubbish graphics in wargames and this is colourful, dynamic with a crazy cartoon\graphic novel boys own look. I mean I really enjoyed watching it and how often can you say that about a 2D counter wargame. I'd take this over the poor quality of art of say Squad Battles or the poor quality of Conflict of heroes 3D unit icons and 3D map.

Really hoping it's not only fun to watch but fun to play aswell. If so I hope if the wargame crowd don't buy due to the look it will appeal to the more mainstream crowd instead sells well and we have another greta series to look forward too.

Thanks! But I will skip the zombies. :) At least I hope I could stay with Germans, Americans, Brits and FFI.
I know it's not as hardcore as ASL, but this is exactly what I need very-very well.
