Here's one I haven't seen in any of the posts:

When you bomb Manpower, this can start fires. If large enough, the fires can then do damage to other industries.

Question: Can burning fires also destroy supply? Or is any supply used in fighting the fires?

Pax, do you have any evidence of destruction of supply/fuel due to fires?

Playing against the IJ AI, I will ocaisionally open the joperationsreport.txt file, & see msgs such as:
"Fires increasing at <base>" or
"Fires causing damage to <industry> at <base>".

My game is in Sept '44, I've invaded the HI and have captured bases that are still on fire, the fires caused by my manpower bombing & naval bombardments gradually reduce. Is there any way to speed fire-fighting, do Engineers help?

Nope, other than from tracker ... my supply/fuel inventories will drop and I ascribed them to the fires. cannot recall any messages stating it ... I'll drop see 10K supply drop in the HI and no reason for it other than the fires ... or more accurately 50K supply drop caused by fires raging in 3 or 4 bases at the same time ... it is really hard to tell if it is the fires or the new bombing. It seems like the losses are much higher than just bombing missions.

I don't know anything that will help the fires except rain. Rainy days help a lot!
