Has anyone noticed that Engineering units will still perform all of their engineering functions even though they are marching to a new hex? Even though they have marched 28 miles they will still fill potholes in the runway and construct new ports, airfields, and fortifications. Handy for combat engineers, they will repair the runway for 7 days then be in a new hex to help with combat.

I noticed this while marching engineer units to Noumea; they built two level 1 airfields on the way while marching.

Well, when you are driving those 20 odd bulldozers along a jungle trail, they do tend to level things off a tad :D

Geez, you guys are cruel. Let them work and march simultaneously?:D
It's becuase even though they marched 28 miles, they are still in the same hex? That makes semse. Very unrealistic though.

It should be easy to fix. If the unit is marching then they don't repair/construct.

This idea of impossibly productive and high spirited engineers brings to mind that other group of seven, very short "mining engineers" who were known to whistle and sing absurdly upbeat songs on their way to work. Of course, they had a good-looking babe to come home to at the end of the day. ;)
