Seems both countries sent their diving squads.

I don't know what to expect in second half, it's a very tight game, I fear it might be decided on an error be it some player or god forbids, the referee.

What an excellent game Mexico did! You definitely have a great squad. This is another group of death because along with Croatia that makes 3 excellent teams that could get far if you ask me.

And tonight I won't be missing Russia vs South Korea. I never saw them playing under Capello. Let's see what the Italian has accomplished.

Yes. I really like this Mexican team. Brazil have not impressed me that much so far. Huge pressure on them of course. They are a good team but not a great team I think.

Best wishes,
Steve

Yeah cerebral game, maybe equivalent to a pitching match in baseball, or maybe not.

Mexico has a great goalkeeper. Ochoa saved at least three sure goals.

After half Russia - South Korea match... er... I give up

Russia = Catenaccio from the Steppes (so this is what Capello did, I should have known better )

South Korea = they run and run and run... like headless chickens, going nowhere. Someone should tell them that it's more intelligent to make the *ball* run, instead of the players. More efficient, less tiring LOL Someone possibly told them so but they answered him that they didn't have players that could make the ball run in the first place. So keep running until the end of the match or drop dead!

What do you do Akinfeev?! Russia play very very bad, perfect Capello style...as you say, 100% old italian catenaccio style.
Yesterday I saw USA-Ghana, and I'm impressed by USA mental solidity. They can do well. We'll see. Ghana is like other African teams: great power without control. I expected more from they. All in all, Mexico played a great match versus a mediocre Brazil. Only Dani Alves and Marcelo played adequate to his reputation. But, as always, Brazil can win all matches if decided to play for at least 5 minutes.

Interesting stat. Apparently only Argentina and Uruguay have beaten Brazil more than Mexico.

Mexico genuinely believe they can go a long way in this tournament. I wonder?

Even if Croatia win tonight Mexico only need a draw in the final game to go through.

Que?

I have to 'splain it because it involves irony.
Scoring at will in other sports that have point scores most often would entail a high score and for that matter scoring.

If we had in football results like 80 - 82 then it would not be football but basketball

Also note how small the basket (in basketball) is and yet they easily score many points. And now think about the HUGE football goal... Yes, that huge thing should be swallowing many many goals. But er... it doesn't. Why? Because all things being equal scoring is not that easy, go figure

In other words, football is football, not basketball.

LOLOL

Do not tell me the Dutch are going to implode right now! Back in Euro 2008 they had trashed IIRC France and Italy and then imploded big time.

They seem bipolar

They've just had Martens Indi carried off with a nasty looking one..... Cahill booked for the reckless challenge and misses the last game. If Australia don't lose this they will regret that....

Van Persie very lucky... follows through on Jedinak and gets away with it. The Palace defender is as lucky not to get injured as van Persie is to still be on the pitch.....

NOOOOOO!!!!!!! How did that happen??????

Australia should be 3-2 ahead - a glaring miss by Leckie - but instead the Dutch charge upfield and the substitute Depay scores from long range. They are blaming the keeper but the ball swung viciously....

Australia 2-3 Holland

Come on Socceroos - you don't deserve to lose this.

Uh-oh... free-kick just outside the box for the Dutch in a central position......
