Not sure if this is a bug or by design but: I could always use F1 (Attack) with a unit on a mission , allow non-follow path if needed, and unit would go destroy target and then continue on assigned mission. With B536 I cannot issue an attack order without 'unassign' from mission.

Are you using the Auto-Planner for the strike mission?

If that's the case then I belive this is by design

Thanks!

It has to due with the aircraft assign to missions with prosecution zones. Aircraft are unresponsive to orders to attack targets and will not register targets outside zone areas. Aircraft on plotted course or a simple patrol zone (no prosecution) will accept new target, may need option of do not follow plotted path, go attack unit and then return to patrol. This ability to manually select targets outside of patrol zones is important to gameplay - otherwise you have to move reference points around each target or unassign aircraft from mission. I have included a test file with 3 aircraft. Test 1 has patrol and prosecution zone, Test 2 has patrol zone only, and Test 3 has plotted course. I will test ships next.

You don't have to use the prosecution zones. If you use just the patrol zone reference points the game works like it always did (unconstrained).

Prosecution Zones are a great addition. I wanted more! Thanks for the reply. ( I am not asking for any refunds or a full color manual on prosecution zones)
