Newly started game in the dark age - first pirates find my colony very early, I agree to pay the protection.

They leave, I construct a spaceport.

About halfway through building the first explore ship, the same pirate faction returns, raids my colony and attacks my space port.

Space port does not return fire, diplomatic relations no longer show as under protection. No message received from the pirates about breaking the truce.

Game breaking...

I don't know if this has happened to everyone, but before 1.9.5.2, the first pirate contact ended up the same is your situation. With patch 1.9.5.2 it has stopped. But they still might break the truce without telling you first. After all, they still are ........ pirates(without honor). I hope you are up to the challenge!

i don't mind dealing with the challenge - however watching a single escort ship destroy my medium star base without a single laser fired in response is clearly a bug
