hi,

there is a failure in your database: ship class 1110 Aoba 12/44 becomes a wpn2 1657 20cm/50?

the ships Unyo (025) and Chuyo (026) are without any regular ship class (1868). Taiyo is 1865. Is this your intention?

It's possible to allow all takao-class ships to rebuild as Maya-CAAA? You are building some Shokaku-kai, but your AA-screen is more than useless.
It's possible to bring all new created air croups inline with the original designations? Because it's a fantastic scanario you can use any FAA-, RNZAF-, RAAF- and USN designations. And some ships like the Resolution will arrive with two air croups (here with "resolution" and Nr.700 Sqd FAA S-4) - btw. the same issue in the RA-scen.

My Mod Folder got corrupted this morning. The executable crashes in the same place three times.

I have to re-install a HUGELY modified Folder and am completely depressed at having to do this.

CRAP is the nicest word going through my mind currently...

@John:

Are there any files that any of us can send you to help ease the pain? Very sorry to hear that your installation got corrupted :/

@thinman:

RE Aoba-class, you are correct. It should be device 1660, not device 1657. That is easy to correct with the editor.
RE Unyo & Chuyo, if I understand correctly, they are not part of the reinforcement pipeline. Instead, there are 5x xAPs (Argentina, Asama, Brazil, Kamakura & Tatsuta Marus) that can be converted to Kaiyo-class CVEs starting on June '42. The conversion takes 240 days, and requires a shipyard with a minimum size of 25.
RE Takao-class, no. I suggested that either all Takao-class were allowed to convert, or none of them, but my suggestion was not accepted, so only Maya can become a CAAA. Also, please remember that this is the Kaigun, not the RN. Anti aircraft was definitely not their forte.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey Kitakami.

Thanks for the offer. I'll have to do a complete install and it will BLOW CHUNKS!

1. Aoba Fixed.
2. The five or so large APs are allowed to convert to CVE along the lines you describe. Pays to keep them out of Harm's Way until conversion. I use them as a Fast Convoy for moving troops out of Shanghai or Tokyo after I've bought them out.
3. Takao-Class SHOULD be fixed. Are you sure of this? Remember looking at your suggestion a while ago and acting on it. Please check that again if you can.

John

STUPID question: WHERE is the last patch at? I need it before I install the Beta and then DaBabes stuff.

Reinstalling a heavily modded WitP-AE is no fun at all. Been there, done that.

Regarding the 3 Takaos, I just checked the database, and they upgrade their 4x 12cm/45 to 8x 10cm/65, but they keep their 5x double 20cm turrets and do not get the additional 4x 10cm/65 in two additional turrets as the Maya does. If you want all four ships to get the increased AA suite, the easiest solution is probably to make class 1124 (Takao) a "convert from" class, and class 1130 (Maya) a "convert to class", with a conversion delay of 60 days.

EDIT: changed my suggestion.

@John:

Now that I am checking everything as I am starting a BtS PBEM with an old time opponent, I noticed that the air group (#586) for AV Kunikawa Maru (which starts the game in Amami Oshima) arrives on 14-Jul-42. Is that as intended?

Hey John, Hope the computer is working OK now. I know the sinking feeling of having to reinstall files you have collected over the last few years and hoping you don't have to do it again. My wife just got a new laptop(with win 7)and i'm thinking of highjacking it. Anyway, have you had a chance to check out the Allied air art problem as I reported. I do have a save if you need it.

I APPEARS that we are OK. We backed up a day and just re-ran the turn. It worked. If this current turn in my box runs then I think we'll be OK.

John,

I'm confused. Your opening post in this thread states that BTS will be scenario 60.

The download on your RA website identifies BTS as scenario 55.

I just downloaded it and have not looked at what is inside the ZIP files yet.

Another item I am unclear on. Is this an extended map mod?

I have installs for both stock and extended maps and want to make sure I put BTS in the right folders.

Thanks for all the work on this mod and I look forwards to giving it a try.

NO. I started going in one direction and then shifted gears for the scenarios. Probably did not make that very clear. Sorry. Here is the line-up:

Scen 45 Treaty Mod
Scen 50 Reluctant Admiral
Scen 55 Between the Storms

Hope that helps.

HansBolter, All three scenarios use the extended map. Enjoy....GP

@John:

Japanese Ships 098 & 099 (Ha Can 11 & 12): Wpn 4 is 066 (empty), instead of the class default 1683, 13.2mm Type 93 AAMG. Perhaps you should take a look.

@John:

CVE Hosho does not have a visual search device, while CVE Ibuki (Hosho class) does. Is that as it should be?
CVE Taiyo does not have a visual search device either.
CL Mogami class... shouldn't B turret be center firing, instead of forward?

That is all I have been able to see.

John, Just deleted and reinstalled BTS, From a fresh download, to see if the allied air art problem i'm experiencing shows up again. It did. Is there an install step i'm missing or what? GP

I have a question about Allied air art as well.

Do we need to install the art bundled with the treaty mod scenario to be able to play BTS without graphic glitches?

And, if so, what folder does the art bundled with the Treaty scenario and located in a subfolder labeled "...Australian..." go?

I can't find a subfolder of the Art game folder that has the plane images in it to add these to.

Good Morning.

I've gone through and done fixes to BTS. Here is my fix list:

1. Made sure G.6 upgrade paths are correct.
2. B5N2-C (Recon Kate) Classification
3. Aoba-Class still had an 8" turret in a later upgrade.
4. Takao-Class Upgrade to CAAA. Spent some time and have decided to allow four of these CAs to upgrade to a CAAA version in 1943. They lose an 8" turret and gain 6x2 3.9" AA. This is now an optional conversion that will take the ships out of service for roughly 3 months.
5. Deleted Unyo/Chuyo so they don't bother anyone since they don't exist in this Mod.
6. Kunikawa Maru starts the war with 6 Petes. No delay now.
7. HaCan 11/12 have their .50 AAMG back.
8. Hosho and Taiyo have Visual Search returned.
9. CL Mogami-Class have there forward firing 6" guns fixed from 3x3 firing forward to the correct 6x3 forward and 3x3 center.

The art issue mentioned by General Patton requires some deeper looking. Will work on that this afternoon.

I sent the files directly to Dwain and Michael for their match. Am now uploading the 1.2 to the website.

John, Juan suggested that I try a fresh install of WITPAE and then download BTS and see if that has any effect on the allied air art problem i'm experiencing. I will try this tonight as my wife and I are having my brothers family over for dinner. I will post the results here probably after midnight tonight....GP

@John,

1. The Amagi class upgrades 172 & 1743 still have the same availability date, 5/44.
2. The Mogami class still has 9x F 15.5cm rifles in 3 turrets, instead of 6x F and 3x C.
3. Taiyo still does not have a Visual Search device.

It seems the database is disagreeing with your rulings :)

DOH!

I forget to refresh any of the starting ship stats. STUPID. Always remember as a Modder to refresh your changes to classes once done in the Editor. If it is just a class (like Mogami) I go back into the individual ship file and re-click the ship class to import and new changes. NOW it is good and Posted on the Website.

Thanks Kitakami...
