Hi,

Thanks for a phenomenal development rate, I am having a difficult time keeping up with the many improvements. The decrease in processor workload was, I may say, the most outstanding!
Taking full advantage of the novel performance, and GUI I was simulating a sneaky intrusion of the US Navy through the Sidra Line of Death (1984) when something caught my eye: the Libyans were electronically blind, even with Soviet AGIs prowling next to some very indiscreet DD Spruance.
I modified the original file to a deployment intended to assess detection range, and it seem line-of-sight bound for Eastern Block equipment/side. The US Navy and Air Force were having the time of their lifes detecting everything at secure distance.

I tried to look at ESM sensor parameters (as per Baloogan), but I could not find differences able to explain this observation.

So I leave the full appreciation of this to the developers as it may be an intended result.

Many thanks,

Looked at the scenario real quick and couldn't find anything obvious. The horizon limitations seem to work just fine. Only OTH-capable ESM systems can detect radar emissions over the horizon (except OTH radars, which can be counter-detected by normal ESM sets). The 'Sensor Role' says whether the sensor is OTH capable or not.

Remember that we also take mast height into account when calculating horizon limitations.

Very well then,

I do not recall seeing any OTH flag at Baloogan DB viewer, but it looked as a probable reason why because a Bear (absent in this case was able to get a fix on the Spruance while the AGIs were completely blind.

One gets humbler when weighting the tech imbalance between sides in such a situation...

Many thanks,

Yeah we'll add sensors to the database viewer eventually. There have been a ton of other issues with higher priority, so haven't gotten around to it yet
