Ancient game, actually the first game I played. Started this game 3 years ago (1.05.45), and just came back to it, waiting for 1.8. War was going extremely well for the Axis after following a lot of what Pelton had devised and a certain victory was on the cards during 1942. The Soviets were weak, very weak going into the first winter having lost over 5M men, 80k guns and 20k tanks and Moscow and Leningrad.

7 May 1942, turn 47 I started my new offensive. Initially, I was going to punch holes through the Soviet lines with my fresh armored forces to set up some encirclements for the next turn or two when I was expecting clear weather. I didn't realize how extremely weak the Soviets were. They crumbled everywhere I pushed and I kept going til I encircled some 200 units.

My infantry forces were able to destroy 174 units the next turn. 19 Armor Corps, 2 Cav Corps, 90 Inf Divs, 3 Cav Div, 1 Mtn Div, 4 Armor Brigs, 54 Infantry Brigs, 1 Airborne Brig resulting in 1.4M casualties, 16K guns and only 1500 tanks, which really goes to show how pathetically weak the Soviets were.

And if you use your rail units and HQ's properly this is what your rail network should look like...what partisan problem?
