ok I just 'renamed it' with a .txt ext. ..



uhmmm, nope.


thats not working, how do I properly rename a zip , as a txt? just adding '.txt' on the end is not working...

Weird, I always just right click on the zip in Windows Explorer, hit rename, then .text(removing.zip). It will whine at you about file maybe not working or something, hit ok.

Ok, so back to give it another go, renamed txt....it kep recognizing it as a zip, so I converted the bmp to a gif, and here it is....

so the attachment says its been DLed 4 times, I will aSSume that no on has any suggestions and it looks fine?

It has been a little while, I guess still no luck? I read somewhere, that a primary surface may already have been drawn, so another can't, until the particular program has been closed? However, I assume that you have many times rebooted and tried, so no program has done anything before trying JTCS? I'm going to assume you also have the latest directx installed as well?

Oh yea, I DLed the latest drivers for my chipset, DX etc etc....so, that being said, after seeing your message in my Box this morning, I figured what the hell?

I am here at work with that laptop, hooked up my external drive,started the game and ...it NOW works...how and why?


I cannot say for sure; HOWEVER unrelated to this, I was working on another issue.

My cpu was was running hard, looking at my resource monitor WmiPrvSE.exe was the culprit, after doing some reading, I decided to stop the process via Services.....the cpu usage dropped off, and this is the first time I tried running the game since.........

Computers eh? watcha gonna do

Got a new bitmap failure here.

In EFII for the United States, unit P10504 P47 Ground attack air unit.

Got the attached error in a random design scenario I was play testing against the A/I.

Hi John!

Yep, ALL of the .bit files are not present for any of the U.S. aircraft!! Will get together a bundle and hopefully post a link here.

EDIT:Better still for now, go into West Front, find the SP10500 series.bit files, 20 of them, select, hit copy, paste them into your EF folder, all you need to do!! Will make a note for the future patch though, thanks for pointing this error out!!

Duh, this is a Forgotten Battles 2.0 issue. I've already provided a patch to it having noticed I've missed the UK and FR airplane BIT files. So the US BIT files were missing too.
