You can see the number of sorties below, I think it was full KB less maybe two CV? It is taking forever just to get merchantmen loaded for resupply missions. Today I try to get supply to outposts, Singers (this ain't going to be easy), and to the Marine objective above. I do have enough escorts and AOs in CenPac to raid should that make sense. Sara departed the West Coast before the expected hoard of IJN subs arrives. I sent additional escorts from Pearl today back to the West Coast to make escorts for AOs and transports.

Aleutians - I would send a SC TF or two up here from Pearl based around the newer CLs and 4 to 6 DDs each along with some subs to forestall any invasion in western part of this island chain. This area is where you could send a pair of the old slow BBs. Send an AS to be based out of Dutch Harbor.

Cape Town - I send the 40th & 41st American Divisions here for India. Think about some of your DBs to go as you could use them in India 'if' invaded. My 'spidey' senses would be tingling right now about defending India. Lots of fort building and only Delhi building AF to 7 to allow upgrades. Some AA, CD, and FAs head here to. Also 50th FG.

Construction Engineers - My 'rule of thumb' is to sent the EABs to India while my SeaBees stay in Pacific.

The 51st Fighter group railheads to the East Coast. They should ship out in 72 hours for Africa. I will follow on with a bomb group or two in the near future.

I wanted to wait a day or two to answer Herr Cannonfodder. I have not seen another IJN carrier TF. Nadda. Only one mysterious Kate siting in the southern PI.

Are you saying you will reinforce Burma?

Like the format!

No, Burma will fall quickly with little resistance. Most of Burma Corp is at Katha resting. I sent some small elements down the roads to the Thai border for recon as much as anything else. I do see this intelligence as good news as I may have more time to prepare in India than I thought. All of the Singapore and Malayan reinforcements are on or heading to Ceylon with US forces designated for India at sea some 30+ days away. I am going to have a real PP problem in February and March.

Americans in Philippines go where??

I eventually sent both the PBY groups to India as you have so few Catalina groups and they only have 4 or 6 planes each for Naval Search. One on Ceylon and the other at Diamond Harbour.

B-17Ds end up in India, but can be useful in SRA before hand. "IF" Singapore is relatively undamaged, then a 'hit and run' night attack to the port of Saigon is good. Even into Takao if you can manage. Remember these bombers are without a rear gun, so are fragile. However, they can reach from Ledo to Sian and anything in between.

Note - I use PP to buy out the AA bde and heavy AA units that arrive at Colombo when they get there and ship them over to India. "IF" you lose Ceylon, you want them still helping out. I send them to Ledo to protect my transports lifting supplies into China. Having over 100 heavy AA guns makes it expensive to Japanese bombers.

I like the AA unit buy out once I think Ceylon is out of danger. There are no safe havens in Java or Sumatra at present. KB has hit Soerabaja, Batavia, and the inner fields are searched daily. I am afraid to lose the group on the ground there now. I have never had the KB concentrated in the DEI in the first two weeks of the war before so all tips, suggestions, general discourse is encouraged. The first squadron of fortresses touched down in Sydney today. Another is resting in Darwin before staging south east. I want to build Alice Springs and others but I am woefully short engineers busy building forts on the east coast.

**I hope to have the PBYs out before Clark falls. I like keeping an eye on the waters around Luzon as long as possible. I know it has no real practical use at this point, but they are always the last folks to check out of the PI, just after my fighter pilots.

Re: Enemy focus STOP

Reread what I advised months ago in Obvert's AAR STOP You have more time to get the paper work in order STOP Remember it doesn't matter too much if nothing returns and some losses on the way in are to be expected STOP But carried out successfully it nullifies the enemy's currently fashionable strategy STOP

Am confident TWITS can carpe diem STOP

Japan continues to sink merchants at an alarming rate. ASW fruitless. Today we lost a fighter squadron just out of San Diego bound for Australia. Another lost trying to get supplies to Port Moresby.

update: Enterprise, Lexington, and Saratoga are at sea supporting Coconuts. The Japanese seize Rabaul today. New Ireland defenses are smashed. Japanese recon is over Kendari and Ambon now. The Chinese northern wing guarding the approaches to Sian is routed. The AVG scores it's first kills hunting in China.
