Turn 30 Allied dispositions. Supply and HQ entanglements reasonably well sorted.

Rain rain go away. Things have ground to a halt, or maybe squelched to a stop - mud. Not shown but all of Europe where it isn't raining is buried under snow and it's always snowing.

You know that Rain isn't that big a deal. Light mud is only 90% as effective as clear. Oh wait...let me look something up. Okay..I was wrong. In a good road system, light mud is 0.9. But Italy (birth place of the paved road) is only Average Roads...thus attacking is only 80% less effective.

So instead of 2-1 you will need 2.4 to 1

Heavy mud (on the other hand) is a front shutter downer

EDIT: Snow has the same penalties as light mud. 90% in Europe and 80% in Italy. And Light Snow is the same as Clear

I did make a couple of attacks. Most of the turn was reorganizing. It would be nice to have a little clear weather though. tired of seeing the raindrops.

If you attack that wall you will end up losing a lot of vp's from casualties. Just leave enough to keep him there and start prepping to go around him. It will take months to break that line to no good result.

That's the general plan. His wall here in the mountains is pretty much impregnable without bringing everyone from England to the Med. Even then, you can only get so much into a couple hexes at once.

We'll keep trying to bomb the mountains flat (I think there were air strikes on every hex there are German units this turn), and look toward other options (don't want to say too much since Scott is here too :-) ). I do have Naples and Taranto and some smaller ports to keep supplies flowing.

Love this game.

Bomb the crap out of all the ports and railyards up and down the peninsula. This forces him to use more trucks too, and make sure your put up railway interdiction at choke points. About of month of not getting enough supply will drop those cv's after one assault to a manageable level, but your smart to go around.

Went deep. Just north of Le Havre. :-) Waiting to see the result of the invasion and then I'll post a pic.

I keep forgetting to get screen shots before hitting go. I'll try to remember next time. We have 2 more Corps ashore and are expanding the "beachhead" to the south and towards Rouen. Slow going. Scott managed to get some east front veterans there for the defense.

Slowly expanding the invasion zone in the Le Havre area. Heavy resistance but we are making some progress.

Cracks in the defense are beginning to show. Allied forces take Rouen, and force German retreats along the south side of the bulge. I think our air support is having an effect on German supply and reinforcement/replacement all along the line. Still a hard push though without a breakout.

It's turn 53 .....

I've stolen shamelessly from the EF .... Winter months, I was within reqts, now closer to 50% .....
My knowledge of the supply portion of this game is poor, though Dave is handing me my hat irrespective .....

I can tell I'm facing an awful lot of Germans. At first from recon it looked like LeHavre would be a good invasion area. While I've expanded, I'm also pretty well contained. Supply for me is not a problem, with Le Havre, two mulberries and amphib unit ports. It's bringing enough to bear to force him back.

If that's true, maybe I just have to keep him occupied until the Russians reach the French-German border :-)

Turn 54. I feel like I'm up against the whole east front here (considering the numbers I'm still facing in Italy, where progress is non-existent. Need to do something to break out of the ring. Right now it's a battle of attrition. At the moment most of the Canadians have been pulled out of line to refit. They've been carrying a heavy load since the invasion and are desperately in need of a rest.

Pretty much halfway point through the campaign. Progress - taken Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica fell without invading, 2 invasions on the Italian mainland, liberated Naples but now facing a formidable defense in the mountains north and east of Naples, invaded France, liberated Le Havre and Rouen, and expanded the beach head south halfway towards Paris. We won't be pushed off but it's hard going to make progress.

It looks like your command structure is out of whack, who is everyone commanded by? If you are having problems with ammo etc it may be because you are failing admin checks
