At Haichow, the Shanghai Warlord perishes but the port is retaken.

The Italian effort nearly stalls but the odds are good enough to carry them through.

The assault on Lille goes pretty well (hope I shattered the right unit).

The Japs load a CVP on Akagi and rebase 2 Ftrs from Mukden to Port Arthur.

On a 9 the turn continues.

On a 6, the weather is mostly fine.

Chinese units on the coast is never a good idea unless Japan is realing later in the game.

France falling in J/A'40 is normal, but the CW commitment to the Denmark area is not. Interesting to see what will happen.

M/J 1940 Allied 11

There will not be full pass. There will be counter attacks with high risk. I have noticed that last combat gets best result, so I have sure win for one combat.

US pass, CW combined, all other land.

CW brings CP and CL to Eastern Med to put troops in Egypt to supply. Lonely HQ asks for desperate attack. Other CL sails to Western Med.

AllenK seems to be offline, so Allies decide to initiate combat in Eastern Med to be able to move on. Allies roll 4, Axis 9 and CP is safe.

USSR ground strikes hard Mukden for easy attack and artillery hits Changchun.

Stupid air force can't hit a thing. It would been automatic victory with 2 attacking units.

Good call on the East Med as I certainly would have tried to intercept.

Italian Arm HQ is under attack (5:5=0). Does Italy want to use defensive HQ support?

Edit: Egypt is doomed, I just try some something before they die...

USSR rails Mongolian CAV next to Kirin.
Nationalist Chinese rails INF to Kaifeng.
Nationalist Chinese take empty city of Suchow.

6 land combats are declared. Japanese units are piece of cake. Attacks in France vs both lonely Arm and attack in Egypt vs lonely Arm HQ are huge gamble. Dice, please...

Does Germany want to choose blitz or assault?

Mayhemizer, it was rather risky to attack in Egypt with Gort and no other MOT / MECH / ARM unit. I don't rememeber the die roll, but it seems to me that Gort was sent back to the force pool then.
Nice job in China and Manchuria.

The trouble with poor German rolls is that they are addictive for the French player. When Germany attacks France and rolls low, you kind of hope (and even expect) it to last. It occurred to me once, and seeing everything was fine in France in M/J 40, I fully expected to last into 1941. No such luck, a couple of good rolls and an O-chit later, France got Vichyfied in J/A 40

Best Regards

Hi,

True, I kind of was sure France will last long as the start of German attack failed. But rolls got better and France is beaten down faster than ever. And I did not remember that unit is not allowed to be railed to ZoC hex if there is no other units. Now Paris is empty.

And I should have chosen assault in Egypt when attacking without Mot...

Damn rolls... With Assault both would have lost one more unit, now Japanese are only shattered.

I made a decision on your behalf to take assault in Manchuria. With blitz city would have been lost automatically. I hope that was OK?

One higher roll was needed to kill HQ! (Then both attacking units would have died too)

And now the last one, and the most important one. 14 is so far highest roll, 15+ is coming for sure...

Blitz or Assault?
