Hi all, I just realized that I wrote: "we had temperatures above +0 degrees Centigrade almost all time" instead: "we had temperatures above +20 degrees Centigrade almost all time" Yes... average temperatures in October were above +20 degrees Centigrade... quote:
ORIGINAL: BBfanboy -10º C this morning (about 17ºF). The river outside my window was moving fast a week ago from all the heavy rain we had in the last 6 weeks. About November 2 the overnight temps dropped down to -5º C and did not get above freezing during the day. Small cakes of ice started to appear on the river, still moving fast. Next day it was pans of ice about 3 feet wide. Then large pans of ice about 10' wide, moving more slowly. Today when I got up the pans of ice were 10-30 feet across and moving slowly. Two hours later the ice cakes have jammed together, covering the river except for a few spots where a gap between ice pans did not fill in. Interesting to watch the process, but much too fast and too soon for my liking Ahh... cold... quote:
ORIGINAL: USSAmerica We've actually had a very nice Autumn here in North Carolina. Just this past weekend, we had our first overnight frost. Pretty typical for our area. It's going to be a little cooler than average for the next week or so, but still daily high temperatures of 50+ F. Nice! quote:
ORIGINAL: witpqs Opposite from you. Looking chilly this year. Whole autumn? Leo "Apollo11"
